    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I may have the location mixed up, I never used this site prior to this.

I was honestly a bit disgusted by the work environment and co-workers here. They will hire anyone, from pedophiles to 18 year old girls. To ex-cons and an ex-cop that urinated on a 15 year old girl. There is no concern for the worker, but for their safety and they are treated as tools. I would not recommend this job to anyone, and if there was any legal way I would be sure to sue them for the mistreatment. Sadly it is all within their legal rights. They constantly hire and fire workers, for little to no reason at all. Either a personality conflict or a missed day, I understand the legal guidelines and we are speaking beyond this as human beings not as if we are computers. I was really wanting a further opportunity there, but will refuse to show any support and will be sure to even boycott ebay and anyone supporting of it. This is your lose, and not mine I will be sure to take my expertise else where. Somewhere where the worker is seen as a human being and not a tool. Temp workers are people, I understand a lot of them are not the brightest but some are looking to gain money to further their education and improve the business. Andre (Not with Addeco, but a support lead) will openly discriminate based upon race, and fire anyone not of his skin color. It is not taking a rocket scientist to figure this out. I've studied psychology for many years, and it is very obvious. I mean no harm to the business, but I am giving advice to help improve this. If you want good workers, you do not get them in mass numbers and fire the weak as if it was a race to the egg. You take your dedicated and ones who enjoy their job, and you treat them as fellow country men to help them out not discriminate to them based upon class. Also, a lot of drug dealing takes place in the building. I don't report individuals, but it does go on for sure and very openly. Sadly someone has to speak up.

I have been working at eBay Enterprise full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Autonomy. Other than that, it's hard to say anything good about this part of eBay. There are zero A players in senior management. They have all left or were forced to leave.

    Cons

Lack of understanding of the market, their part in it, how to create value from a strong but aging tool set makes this company totally dysfunctional. The finance group makes budgets based on promises made to San Jose, with no input or consideration on the path to achieve them. Senior leadership is a huge void. A software company that only executes on one requirement- code freeze. Zero support from senior management, they are only concerned with CYA and hiding from responsibility. They constantly talk employee engagement, while having virtual HR and the lowest pay in the industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leave. Close your PA headquarters and fold into San Jose. Hasten your mission to be part of the long list of failed eBay ventures.

I have been working at eBay Enterprise full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Compensation and benefits are solid
    Facilities are well maintained

    Cons

    - Totally dysfunctional organization, from top to bottom (some departments are worse than others)
     - Absolutely no appreciation of work force, you are viewed as a "tool" to be used until broken.
     - NO work life balance – NONE, anyone who tells you different is lying to you.
     - Expectations are totally unrealistic, due to past miss-steps and terrible decisions, which the company is now paying for in a big way.
     - Could continue, but basically – this is a terrible place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check the egos – stop living on past accomplishments - the place is a mess and you should know that - if you guys were so good, so smart, so advanced, your clients would say so, yes... Not sure that is happening, is it?

Take a REAL look at the state of the company, be real, be honest, and identify WHO allowed it to happen (at all levels, not just executive level, but Directors / Senior management as well) – need to clean house.

you need new blood/viewpoints, and listen to them if you can get anyone of substance to sign-up for the re-build!

Build alignment, teamwork and change the culture, it starts at the top – not just talk, real change.

Hope it is not too late!

I worked at eBay Enterprise full-time

    Pros

Free Bagels, Soda, Ability to work from home sometimes

    Cons

Laughable pay raises, promotions are rare, growth (what's that?), working around the clock, beating their employees into the ground until they have nothing left to give, little-to-no recognition, revolving door, terrible culture, senior management non-existent. Only way to get a raise is by getting another offer and making them match it. This is a known fact.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of all of them and start over.

I have been working at eBay Enterprise

    Pros

The pay and benefits are decent

    Cons

Everything else? I knew I made a mistake a week after I started. Everyone is miserable. Low morale. Constant finger pointing and passing the buck amongst teams and departments. High turnover and that's not even considering the layoffs that happen almost yearly. They're losing clients left and right because of missed goals and timelines. Run far and fast away from this company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care a little about your employees.

I have been working at eBay Enterprise full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Few things I like about this place: paycheck, exposure to many different and current technologies, great co-workers--really smart, talented people.

    Cons

We were GSI Commerce. That is being eroded and anything with GSI stamped on it is being erased. Our president told us a year ago, "If you don't subscribe to our [corporate] philosophy, you should leave." How awful is that? I don't have a mission to change the world for eBay. That is so wrong and offensive. I don't want to leave. I want to do the same good job I've done for many years. I'll change the world on my own time, thank you.

It's often very difficult to find the right person to help. It's a complex engine and you can't figure it out yourself. Because turnover is so high the subject matter expert you thought you knew quit or was fired last week.

Also, management is dysfunctional, delusional, and deficient. Constant reorgs. Exactly how many times can you restructure the middle managers in a year or two? Apparently there is no limit with this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop punishing the workers.
