    Pros

Good benefits(over 100 hours of paid time off) and health insurance(very good, hard to come across). Flexible with schedules for school. Nice break room. Pretty easy work. Generous amount of sick/late days. Time+time and a half for holiday pay(×2.5)

    Cons

Little to no room for advancement. Calls are graded with a book to the face. Benefits will likely disappear as eBay is looking to sell EBay Enterprise. No good recognition program. Questionable management. Training has little hands on practice. You'll have to start as a temp. HR can be really rude. Favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, they have a lot of good ideas as they are working directly with the customers.

    Pros

Awesome PTO - but only if you can get converted from a "temp" to a regular employee.

    Cons

The background/credit check for conversion is insanely stringent for McDonald's-like wages. Credit check is a key component of the conversion process, but your credit has nothing to do with the benefits you are denied access to if you are not converted from a temp agency employee to an eBay employee. You are able to work as a temp for 1.5 years, taking the same sensitive financial information from customers as eBay employees, but you are excluded from PTO, raises, affordable benefits, promotions, stock sharing options, the list goes on!

    Advice to Management

When you aren't sticking with a job because of low pay, or because of the brutal nature of being screamed at and abused by customers, you are typically doing so out of loyalty, or a happy, comfortable, and cohesive workplace. Nurturing employee morale rather than discouraging it on all fronts and at every turn will breed a much more result and customer driven workforce.

    Pros

Benefits. Nice break room. Great local IT department.

    Cons

Pay, very arrogant leadership. HR issues.

    Advice to Management

Listen to everyone and help. Employee engagement survey is always a "knee jerk" reaction. Senior management consistently waits for Pulse survey too see how to improve work environment, but does little to nothing to make changes and then "props" whatever changes were made like a big victory!

    Pros

    - eBay brand looks great on a resume
    - Great location off of Mill Ave
    - Good benefits package
    - Casual work environment, can wear t-shirts, shorts and flip flops to work
    - Happy hours with team members

    Cons

Where to begin? One gets the sense that the Fetchback office was once a great place to work, but working in the office now it's impossible to ignore the oppressive atmosphere of negativity hanging over everyone's heads. Management constantly blames employees for being unable to meet the unrealistic goals set by the senior executives, rather than taking any real accountability for any poor decisions they have made. Sales often puts the cart before the horse, leaving operations to try and turn a crappy deal into a pot of gold. Technology is broken but there are never sufficient resources put behind fixing the issues, resulting in lots of broken promises and consistent delays on product delivery. The teams feel very siloed and it seems obvious that each team is operating oblivious to what the other teams actually do and are capable of doing.

Most of this would probably be tolerable if not for the condescending (and at times blatantly rude and disrespectful) attitude of some managers toward the employees. Senior enterprise sales managers have been known to verbally abuse members of the ad ops team with no real consequences.

Get some experience under your belt, meet a few great people, but get out while you can.

    Advice to Management

Clean house with senior management. Leadership has remained in place despite three mass layoffs and no indication of being able to turn the ship around and start meeting company goals.

    Pros

In the Marketing--Attribution space, they had many great opportunities to deliver interesting and creative technical products.
They were fairly good about being flexible with hours and working from home.

    Cons

They were led by an extremely negative, self-serving core of political employees.

These senior leaders focused on protecting their day-to-day influence over everything else, making every day a challenge for those who preferred results to politics.

    Advice to Management

If they can't seriously change the culture of the senior staff, they maybe should be "promoted" to new responsibilities to give their current teams and projects a new chance.

    Pros

the people who worked there were quality and driven individuals with a passion to innovate and excel forward.

    Cons

most of these ideas were stuffed down due to upper management. New ideas were "said" to be encouraged, but no follow through would occur. Because of the takeover and muting of innovation within the office, the company morale declined significantly, especially with unattainable financial projections with little actualized numbers behind it.

    Advice to Management

walk your talk. be real, take responsibility for poor decisions.

    Pros

There are many great, talented people. Good location in the South Bay. Some schedule flexibility (depending on your manager)

    Cons

Senior management makes decisions without fully considering their employees. Compensation is not competitive. Competent employees are expected to pick up slack for the dead weight

    Advice to Management

Let the dead weight staff go. Pay your employees fairly.

    Pros

Great teams. Hard working people who care about eachother. Benefits were very competitive. Energy is big and there are social activities and laughs. A fun culture with plenty of happy hrs and bagel wednesdays. The job teaches a ton of skills and disciplines you.

    Cons

Projects are left in the hands of anyone but the management. No guidance is given and there is nowhere to ask for help or backup.

Work life balance in non-existent regardless of the vacation days given, you will always be logged on. Clients dont know the lack of attention on some accounts. Promotions are far and few and starting salary is low. Barely anyone stays for more than a few years and once someone leaves everyone gets screwed. They do not hire replacements, or they place the rare new hires on confusing assignments.

Executives are constantly swapping out, the last just left for a trading offense. Theres no trust in most managers because they aren't effective. The vision for the company as a whole is not integrated well across KOP & other offices. There is a lot of confusion on who is responsible for what, especially if there is performance compensation involved.

    Advice to Management

Get clearer communication between the big guys and you. HIRE people to help the workload. Stop relying on the same people so they dont burn out. Help your own grow instead of a revolving door because clients feel it.

    Pros

Pay is decent for the area.

Lots of new and interesting projects to get involved with.

Some great peers to collaborate with.

Middle management tries their best to work with you.

    Cons

Promotions are far and few between.

    Employee rating system is inconsistent.

    Work life balance issues.

Discussing concerms with upper management is a big no no

    Advice to Management

Work to enhance your employees. Listen to pulse survey, and to understand the importance of employee moral.

Saying things like "this was management's decision for the benefit of the company" is not helpful without further discussion if there are concerns.

    Pros

Working for eBay was an inspiring experience, and there are some great people working here.I got to work on some great brands. eBay Enterprise does have a promising future, if they can capitalize on their many technological advantages

    Cons

However, it also has a deplorable leadership team, who has no interest in leading, only sustaining the bureaucracy and keeping the West Coast off their necks. I have rarely seen less professional leaders who are near non-existent to the rank-and-file employees. The virtual HR system is terrible to deal with, and if a staff member has an issue, and I have never seen them side with anyone but management, even in the face of allegations against said leaders.

The buildings housing the marketing teams are anything but inspiring, equipment is dated, and the despite the "Shared Values" mantra, the leaders do not impart a single one of those values to their teams. The culture is "make it work"

    Advice to Management

Close outlying campuses, restructure new biz goals, update work environment, and clean house on most leaders who have been there over two years. They don't believe in eBay's values, and long for a return to the True Action way of doing business. It was demoralizing watching us bring in
