    Pros

    - Doing business with best companies (Facebook, Google, Netapp, VMWare, etc)
    - Program managers that I have dealt with are professional and experienced. I learned a lot from them. They appreciate my contribution.
    - pay is good (comparing to similar positions (Project Coordinator) at other companied)

    Cons

    - Project managers that I was reporting to were not willing to improve the processes.
    - company paperwork is old school.
    - scope of work was not defined
    - there was no training program/plan set for new comers.

    Advice to Management

Invest on giving a well-defined structure to the company as well as training programs for new hires.

Salaries are on the lower side, inexperienced mid-level management

    Advice to Management

Focus on internal team building efforts, more cross training programs

    Pros

Stability, good benefits, decent 401k program, flexible work hours. In my position I have MBOs I can work towards in order to earn quarterly bonuses.

    Cons

Not the most up to date on technology and software and there aren't many opportunities for growth within the company.

    Advice to Management

Consider implementing more current technologies and software - also, try working on the company culture. We're a 1,000+ person company but we don't have holiday parties or networking opportunities.

    Pros

This is a great company with great quaility people. The sky is the limit. They have some sort of relationship with all vendors. They reconize and respect there sales force and allows them to idepentantly do there business as long as results are achieved. Great benefits and company perks ie... car allawance, phone etc...

    Cons

Remote locations are some times difficult to service from a techincal aspect. Compensation is fair and unlimited... $90K base plus commission based on net profit.

    Advice to Management

The management team I was assciated with were first class people.

    Pros

Adopted many up-to-date technologies and software engineers get to explore new tools and develop new skills to keep up with the IT world.

    Cons

Mid-management team focus a lot on SDLC while there is not enough budget to follow and execute through. No company-wide software design standards and patterns.

    Advice to Management

Trust your capable senior engineers more and hire junior engineers to be trained and grown into company culture instead of hiring all senior but unproven engineers. Need better tools to help streamline the development process instead of some glued-together solutions.

    Pros

They are very into employee development. Have had three managers in three years, all excellent and not afraid to 'get their hands dirty.' Good work/life balance, support, and training opportunities. They care about their employees. Top notch sales force. The kind of company that's makes you want to step up when the situation calls.

    Cons

Advancement can be difficult if not located around HQ and culture lacking but this may be true because of working at a remote location.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your long-term employees, especially those working remote so they are involved in national meetings, etc. to feel more a part of the team.

    Pros

Great place to learn, good leadership and company will pay for most training.

    Cons

Hourly timesheets for W-2 employees. If not tied to projects you constantly feel your job is in jeopordy even when working on internal projects.

    Advice to Management

Pay the support team on how the company is doing on a whole.

    Pros

Great benefits with excellent health care coverage and training opportunities. Liberal time off benefits. Good accessibility to senior leadership team with timely response to issues. Very Successful in sales of equipment.

    Cons

Overall leadership is stagnate with limited openness to moving forward with improved tools, processes and procedures identified by newer employers. Heavy good old boy network with leaders operating within a closed network preventing advancement and improved leadership. Very much stuff in the "replace people" rather than develop talent already on board outside of the network.

    Advice to Management

Step outside your box, operate like a large company and leave the network behind. Move forward with a true managed client environment.
