Able to make great money compared to hourly retail.

I have been working at hhgregg full-time for less than a year

ProsThe job is easy to learn. Days off are usually the same days of the week, so planning life outside of work is fairly easy. If you show up and put in some effort, you can make plenty of money. You can make more money without having to work extra hours by making the most of your time while you're clocked in. There are plenty of resources for product knowledge.

ConsIf there are no customers coming in, there's no money to be made. Training was good, but you have to be proactive to learn the products to help customers. As with any commission position, you have to be persuasive and have excellent customer service skills to make and keep a sale. Scheduled hours are inconsistent, just like other retail.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you want your employees to sell more profitable products, sales associates need to be able to readily see landed cost on products. Finding a manager for an override is often difficult and very time consuming, so there should be a system in place (walkie talkie, pager?) to get a manager to your computer quickly without having to leave the customer or requiring an override for less things.

ProsAnswers are there if your go after them...encourage you to run your store as your own but within companies vision....has culture that is controlled by the team in place

Conshours are the greatest but its retail...only 3 managers to store so hope no one gets sick...sales team not always team players because they are commission paid....lack of hourly help and hours

Advice to Senior ManagementSatisfy you commission sales people around the whole store to have stronger preforming stores. Happy Sales people means more money, happy managers, happy company

Nice company

ProsNice work environment coworkers are enjoyable to get along with.

ConsBlack Friday early early start during this time wish started at 6am instead of 8pm on thursday night of Thanksgiving . Could be good job if pay for warehouse personal could be at 11 to 13 dollars per hour but oh well.

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow the employees time off during the Thanksgiving and start on Friday at 6 to 7 am in the morning. Plus not to fair to the employees that are working in the trenches per say to put the plans in to effect every year while those in higher position probably have that day off on both..
