I have been working at iCrossing

    Pros

If you want to take on more job responsibilities or learn more about other departments, you have free reign to do so. You can REALLY build up your resume if you choose to. Also great opportunities to write for the blog.

    Cons

Promotions are non-existant, at least in the social department. People have job titles that are a full year behind the work they are actually doing. That is likely what will cause me to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the social team more seriously.

I have been working at iCrossing full-time

    Pros

Great company to work for if you are a self-starter. The hierarchy isn't locked down so people lower in it can get noticed and advance. They also support you moving to different positions if you like and if it makes sense to the company. People are really nice, especially in the Chicago/Dallas and SF offices. No drama or politics. The hours aren't crazy like some other agencies. Just depends on the account you are on. iCrossing is getting more and more well known so they are getting bigger accounts as well

    Cons

Still a little loose on how iCrossing does things. The iCrossing brand is still weak compared to other agencies, but it's getting better. There is disconnect between departments sometimes. Account Management teams are weak and are just glorified project managers. Need to do better at helping clients plan for and build their business vs. just executing projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

New CEO should help push things forward. Keep pushing to figure out what iCrossing does best and how that's different from the rest.

I have been working at iCrossing as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

I came from a corporate environment where there was alot of politics, dead weight people adding more stress to your daily work life.

The people here are great, smart, and capable. The technologies being used here are Industry strength technologies. It's a medium sized company, so there is no BS political mess to deal with to get something done.

    Cons

I've seen people being let go rather quickly after making a mistake. In a way, it's a good thing that the company doesn't tolerate dead weights, but it keeps you on your toes to avoid the same fate.

There is an offshoring model here, so you'd have to work at nights to discuss with the offshore team.

I worked at iCrossing full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - You get to work on projects for big brands, so it's definitely good for your resume.
    - You get to work mostly with talented individuals.
    - You can work out a fairly flexible schedule.

    Cons

    - Depending on what department you are a part of, office politics can be tough to deal with.
    - Hierarchy seems to be too deep for what the company does. At times you can find yourself doing most of the work for a client, and being managed by 4-5 people who actually don't know a lot about your specific project.
