    Pros

Some of the people are nice

    Cons

the CEO Hemi ucker does not even understand the concept of how to treat employees well and keep them happy. It does not even occur to him to benchmark other tech companies. Many tech companies send their employees home early the day before a holiday, he will actually work in the office those days and stay late to ensure no one leaves early. At the quarterly earning dinner he makes the attendees wait outside the restaurant until he arrives, not fun when it is hot out and you are standing in the sun, and he arrives 35 mins late. All benefits or lack there of come from him. The 401k matching is capped at $500/year and what is worse is they state it as 25% matching... with a disclaimer that it is matching up to $2k - a very sketchy way to state it, why even bother.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the CEO removed, increase employee moral and focus on organic growth, not just acquisitions ...so much potential.

    Pros

There are some really great people, work/life balance, fair compensation, financially strong global organization

    Cons

Haphazard decision making by management, poor communication, lack of resources, no training, bottlenecks, poor data management, lack of accountability, reactive not proactive, working on Hollywood Blvd is difficult and frustrating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on setting the foundation before you continue to build. Make sure you have enough and the right resources in place to guarantee success.

    Pros

Good place for someone who can ignore mismanagement and go along with mediocrity.

    Cons

The department superiors are insecure and not willing to consider new ideas from others. Existing processes that don't make sense have to be delicately questioned. Not a place for outsiders who have past experience from large established companies. Superiors' poor communication skills have to be tolerated.

As mentioned by others, this is a place that rewards mediocrity, while giving preference for advancement to people who are willing to cater to the egos of department managers.

Avoids promoting from within the department. More often than not, outsiders come on board but soon flee when they find out the true nature of management, resulting in a revolving doors effect within the department.

Understaffing and numerous equipment and software failures result in over work for those who remain.

All combined, results in frustration, destroyed motivation and a desire to leave this mess behind.

    Pros

    Good people...I like my coworkers

    Cons

Not a lot of ways to make money. Very difficult to hit quota as there are not enough calls and leads for all the agents. Quotas are unrealistic given the job and market. There is a decelerator in place and if you hit a percentage of quota then you only get 25% often 50% 75% of your commission. Reps rarely hit quotas which are DID based and not revenue based which is odd.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A matching 401K would be nice.

    Pros

Nice people to work with, Paid parking pass, Free bagels 3x a week. Free lunch every other month. Open bar Christmas party, approachable and friendly upper management. Really friendly CFO, CEO, CAO, they will take to anyone and are happy to say hello to everyone that works here.

    Cons

The pay is under market, I literally received a $.38 cent raise as a supervisor. I received small bonus’s (X3) my first year only and haven’t seen one since. My reviews are great and I even received emails thanking me for the great work. The company is cheap, Equimpment is dated, and see how many hoops you have to go through to get a new mouse! The 401K is matched and toped off at $500 a year while they rave about how well the compnay is doing.
The company lacks smart efficient leadership, the upper managers that have been here for a long time and make the decisions for all new projects but they do not hold Degrees, they worked their way up and stayed with the company for 15+ years so are now in charge and the long processes and outdated business thinking stem from them. HR is not approachable yet the CFO is, that tells you some wires are crossed here.

I have been working at j2 Global full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people working for the company, fun in some cases, breakfast lots of catering for lunch. Nice christmas parties, company massages half paid by the company. Location is great, near all the movie action. Get to see lots of movie premiers from your desk. Company discount on movie tickets.. 5.00 movie tickets

    Cons

Horrible with promoting high producers, management is the worst I've ever had. Company charge backs on your commission is always a fight at the end of the month. Their motive is to keep as much as your commission as possible. You could make really good money if you work 15 hours per days. At the end of the tunnel, if your looking to make more than 45,000 per year this is not for you as a high producer in sales. Oh and very high turn over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn something so you could help your team, Don't corner your employees because you can't answer their questions. Loud talking them or using profanity is not always the professional approach. Honesty is alwasy best when it comes to someones Livelihood.

    Pros

Great location, in Hollywood. Good worker bees. Decent benefits. The company is very profitable. Very nice Holiday party at the end of each year.

    Cons

The upper management is terrible. They don't trust their employees. Many have been in place for years. If you are a female; forget about a promotion in this all boys club. There are no female directors in Southern California. Senior management exemplifies the term misogyny.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up, people. Women can lead. Get rid of your old way of thinking and make room for positive change. Get a PR firm to help you manage your brand -- look at the negativeness that exists. Fix it!

    Pros

Benefits are good, Often provides free food

    Cons

Commission structure gets adjusted yearly to avoid sales rep to make more money. bonuses and accelerators were removed , but increased monthly goal, kept decelerators, call volume has decline to do customer service activating account, and sending sales calls over sea’s. morale is low with the exception of new reps which were not exposed to previous commission structures that allowed high earnings. Commission structure is awful, it does not allow you to take days off or vacation days because you will not hit goal and get docked 25 to 50 percent of pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

change commsion structure it will make a big difference, Reg sales reps would like to be take out occasionally like corp reps
