Contacted by a recruiter and went through a breif qualification interview. visited st. paul location for interview with a director where they asked very basic questions- why you, why us, tell me about you, what do you know about us, etc.

Internal interview since I am a current employee. The entire process was very slow. They approached me to submit my name for the opening. Most internal moves are lateral so I wasn't sure if I wanted to submit for the job or not but figured I would go ahead. Then I didn't hear anything for about 3 months.

Set up an on campus interview, interviewer was very friendly, asked why 3M, and why that role. There was a mini case at the end where one had to size the LED light market for street lighting.

I had an initial interview with college rep on campus in october, then after posting application and resume onto their website, I was contacted several weeks later for a phone interview by a project manager. it lasted about 20 minutes and then I got the internship offer letter and info from hr several hours later.

Interviewed by four different people from the group I would be working with. Very basic questions were asked. It was mostly about my schedule and thing of that sort. Then, someone showed me around the lab where I would be working. The entire process took about an hour or so.
