Panel type of interview. There were 5 different interviewers that came in separately. First one, the. 2 pairs of 2. They were nice and sounded interested. It was easier at first when you get the. See scenario questions. It the senior ones where more serious and a little harder. Overall I was a nice experience even though I did not get the job.

Pointlessly ridiculous behavioral questions by a man who did not seem too bright and always had a condescending tone.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Decatur, IL (took a day)
They shortlisted my resume from the career services portal. I had two rounds of interview on-campus. One of which was technical (Finance and Strategy) and other one was behavioral. I was then invited to their campus at Decatur. I had three interviews and one group case presentation.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Decatur, IL (took 2 weeks)
About a week after I applied online, I received a call from HR to schedule an interview with the hiring manager. A week later I spoke on the phone with the hiring manager and a fellow scientist. The interview was very friendly and informal, mostly probing technical background and potential "fit" for the demands of the role. We also discussed Decatur, as the rural geography is not for everyone. All in all, it was an excellent opportunity, but after a month I've not heard back from the company. Looks like I won't be moving forward.

Interviewed Apr 2009 (took a day)
The recruiter came to our campus and reached out to the students. I made an appointment and the interviewer showed up right on time and was prepared. One of the questions pertained to conflict resolution. She even answered some questions which I had about the company and gave me sincere feedback on my performance later when I requested it. While I did not begin my career with this company, I was impressed with the way that the interviewer represented their organization. Do your homework on the organization prior to interview and have questions ready for them... they will ask and desire this.

Interviewed Jan 2011 (took 5 weeks)
Met with a recruiter at a career fair and talked for about 10 min. We talked about where I was from, what I did for fun, and my agricultural background. We set an interview for the next day and talked about the opportunities in the area for me and what I saw myself doing within the company. Next I was sent to the ADM-Benson Quin headquarters in Minneapolis and had lunch and toured the office. I met with the president and a few VP's and talked about the same things I talked about with the recruiter. I got a call about two days later with an offer and I accepted.

Received and Declined Offer
|
Interviewed Apr 2010 in Decatur, IL (took 2 months)
I interviewed for the corporate internship offered through Archer Daniels Midland for the position of Systems Administrator. Getting to the interview took quite some time, actually between 1 and 2 months, from playing phone tag with the recruiter to HR coordinating interviews with the managers and team. I had my interview canceled three times (for various reasons) prior to finally interviewing in April of 2010. The company is very professional, for being the largest AG Business firm in the world, the actual interview process went very smoothly and I was impressed with the company as a whole. I interviewed with three different superiors separately, an IT Technical Recruiter, a Systems Admin, and a Systems Manager. The interview with the Systems admin was probably the best 1:1 interview I've ever had, very relaxed atmosphere and he would rephrase questions in order to get the best response out of me. The Systems Manager interview consisted of a barrage of scenarios related to Systems/Server support. I was able to answer all questions, or provide some explanation. The last interview was basically an overview with the technical recruiter and gave me an idea of what to expect from the program. I was verbally offered the position over the phone a few days later.

Reason for Declining
I declined because I received a comparable offer which did not require a commute/temporary relocation. However, I now wish I had accepted the offer, because of the global reach of the company.
