ADP District Manager- SBS Outside Sales Interview

Posted Jan 3, 2012

No Offer – Interviewed in San Francisco, CA Dec 2011 – Reviewed Jan 3, 2012

Interview Details – Called by a recruiter. Recruiter set up a phone interview date. Recruiter called at the exact time she said she would, she was professional but not personable at all. I passed the phone interview and was scheduled to meet 1 on 1 with the VP of sales. I arrived about 15 minutes early. He came out on time and led me to his office. Not a personable guy at all, and I pretty much get along with everyone. He was very professional and didn't break character at all (I've been fairly successful at breaking interviewers character to make them at LEAST smile). He didn't budge much. He asked me the basics, and was like a tape recorder (and I was the first interview of the day...). I have a lot of energy, am very confident, and very personable (as a good salesperson should be) and he was like a history librarian.

He told me he'd get back to me by Friday (my interview was Wednesday). It was a holiday weekend so no follow up on Friday was understandable. Called him on Monday (1.2.12) with no answer. Got a reply on Tuesday (1.3.12) saying they are going ahead with another candidate.

Pretty basic interview, too uptight for me but after all you're selling outsourced payroll and HR services...
