AIESEC bascially asks people interested in their internship abroad to submit a written application consisting of an extremely long and detailed form and a CV. However I feel that they don't even read the form, and basically pass every applicant throught their so-called first round screening!
Anyway, the second round is an interview with their SRB (Student Review Board). Now this is extremely difficult. There's basically 3 interviewers who ask you questions about why this internship, what is AIESEC about, and some very hypothetical questions like 'if you are on internship to xxx and you find that you have to share a room with an indian guy.... or if you have to share a room with 3 other people, what would you do?' and questions like 'if you reach your destination country but find that the person who is supposed to receive you is not there, and the other people in the office don't know anything about it, what would you do?' These are supposedly to gauge your maturity and stuff...but I doubt it works...its too hypothetical!
Even though I felt that I did well in the interview, I have been rejected twice! Seriously I wonder how many people are successful in the SRB interview, because I overheard an interviewer (some HR manager who is ex-AIESEC) saying "Is there any minimum amount of positions that we need to fill this time? I can fail as many people as I want right?"
