Interviewed Jan 2011 (took 4+ weeks)
The first step was an lengthy but pleasant interview with an HR rep.
This was followed-up with a phone interview with a VP.
This was then followed up with an interview with senior director and then the VP, both in person.
They were very concerned about being able to handle an intense workload and they were also looking for someone with strong interiors renovation work.

Interviewed Feb 2009 (took 2 weeks)
Started with a quick phone screen with an external recruiter. A few days later, she scheduled me to meet with the Community Manager, my potential boss, on-site at the property. That interview was brief. Then an even briefer meeting followed a few days later with the Regional Property Manager. Later that night, the are HR Director called with a verbal offer. That night, the offer letter arrived.

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took 3 days)
The recruiter conducted a phone interview, then set a 1 on 1 with hiring manager. The process was very quick and the interview was very good. The fact that the recruiter made the call to let me know I was not chosen left a better impact on the company. I felt the interviewer was honest with me on the challenges of the position, but felt the upper management might have been a little power driven.

Interviewed Jun 2008 in Los Angeles, CA (took 2 weeks)
The people I interviewed with were very friendly and asked good "scenario" type questions.
They mostly want to know how loyal you'll be the upper management and you'll adhere to all of their policies and procedures.
If you trying to get a job here, appear to be a "Yes Man" and act like a your the policy enforcer always in favor of AIMCO's operating manual

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Irvine, CA (took 2 weeks)
Overall I should have read some of the reviews here as AIMCO is or was such big portfolio historically, they have now shrunk in the last couple of years that I thought they might go back to their basics and hire experienced quality people. Unforetunately, The people who interviewd me did not seem all that experienced in operations but more corporate America. They also seemed more interested in what I was willing to give of myself in a sense exploitation of my skills and time than really looking to hire good people. i was given the impression they were tight lipped in their interviews and overly political in their management approach. I could see how they have been accused correctly or incorrectly of appearing too Big to care from an employee perspective. I glad their was no interest on their side as they seemed to be users!

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took a day)
I received a pre-interview phone call from an HR Representative, and am now waiting for the next interview. During my pre-interview, I was asked about my job history, current salary, and what my managerial style was. Hopefully, I'll have more to tell if I get the next interview!
