I applied through an employee referral and the process took 5 days - interviewed at AMD.

Interview Details – Interview happened as a part of the rush, where they collect a large number of free resumes and invite them for interviews. I had 5 interviews, back to back. All the people, I met were nice and the questions were mostly related to computer architecture and C/C++ programming. The entire process was very smooth and well organized.

Later in 2 weeks i got a call from the HR person and an onsite was scheduled. The onsite interview consisted of 6 rounds. The first was with the HR person with a look over of company benefits, etc. After which different people from the team interviewed me. 2 managers interviewed me to see if I could be a fit for either team.

I applied through an employee referral and the process took a day - interviewed at AMD in October 2011.

Interview Details – I was interview through a referral. This works the best. Not applying through company websites and consultants. If you have a contact who know the hiring manager, your chances of an interview jump multifold. Therefore building contacts is the key.

there were 4 rounds of interview with 3 technical and 1 HR. The technical stuff was all based on my resume. So people, dont boost up your resume by putting skill you are unfamiliar/unaware of. It will look ugly if they start interviewing on stuff you put in your resume which you are not familiar about. Freshers take note of this.

It was based on logic optimization puzzles, physical design questions, timing questions. Not to0 difficult.

Interview Questions

Negotiation Details – Yes I was offered a position below my experience and expertise level. Guess the company tried to bait and see if i accepted it. I cited my reasons for grade change and they accepted it
