Interviewed Jul 2008 in Bangalore (took a day)
I got referred in AOL India from one of my friends in the company, they didn't take any phone interviews and called me to their office with a full paid trip just by checking my CV.
The interview process in AOL India for techies is simple, they call in the most experienced guy from the team in which the position is vacant, and he takes a detailed 1:1 Tech Skills Interview with both Theoretical and Practical applications. Later on they may call other folks to give them an opportunity to interview others.
I had no difficulties passing my interview the first time and went straight away for the HR Interview, some of my peers however had to be interviewed two times before being selected, other senior level positions often have seven rounds of interviews and written tests.
In the HR Interview I was asked basic questions regarding personality, hobbies, interests and such and then I got the Offer Letter within 2 weeks from the interview date which I gladly accepted after some negotiations.
Overall the interview process was quick and painless, AOL India has a very open work culture where everyone can express his or her opinions to the upper management clearly and everyone is very friendly, the office is very spacious and well designed. I am glad to have accepted their offer.
