Interview Details –
-Met with senior geologist on campus, it went well but I did get nervous after it took 3-4 weeks for them to get back to me. I then got a call from HR to come to their office and have a second interview.
-Second interview met with a 4 different groups a senior geologist and a mid-level geologist, a senior geologist, senior engineer, and then the Principal in Charge. These meetings were back to back and took approximately 3 hours, after this I went to lunch with a few Geologist 1's.
Interview Question – Describe your education & degree background Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Price was non-negotiable and was slightly lower than the average salary shown on glassdoor but one of the nice things is that your salary is based on a 40-hr work week and that you are paid for each hour of overtime after your 40 hours. The overtime is calculated by taking your salary and dividing it by 2080. This is a nice bonus, many consulting firms do not do this.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Apr 2011 – Reviewed Apr 22, 2011
Interview Details –
I had a couple of phone interviews, then they had me over for an on-site interview.
Best interview experience I have had during this job search. They were interested in actually hiring someone, and they hadn't already picked a candidate (like my two previous interviews). I was impressed with the company and the happiness of the employees. They did not ask me any silly technical questions, they just tried to see if I would be a good match for the office.
Interview Question – How would you reconcile competing deadlines or expectations by two different managers? View Answer
Negotiation Details – Salary was, as always happens to be the case, lower than I expected. I originally asked for something in the upper end of the salary range reported here on Glassdoor. I ended up being offered the average salary. I did not make a counter offer. I assume that the upper-end of salaries reported here are not by new hires.
Pros: Great people, challenging work, and you aren't limited to what your job title states. – Full Review `
