Reason for Declining
I worked 2 years, and was about to receive a masters from a top 5 engineering graduate program, ..the recent median salary graduating from my engineering program was 76,000, i was offered an insulting 55,000 with 72 hours to decide. It is insulting because I made more coming out of college two years ago (60,000), and the median salary for our undergraduate program is 65,000. After negotiating, the salary was moved up to 62,000 , which still was uncompetitive despite the unemployment rate.
The fact that the whole interview process was only 1.5 hrs, that they offer 72 hr deadlines, and low-ball salaries....sheds light on the fact that they aren't really looking for the best qualified and fit candidates, ..the are looking for candidates that are more desperate for jobs. In addition, they require a 18 month commitment...ridiculous. Just from the on start i can see how AT&T is not a company that wants to treat their employees right.
Other Details
I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Skills Test and a Personality Test.
