Interviewed Dec 2011 in Greenville, SC (took 2 days)
I acquired the job from a Monster posting I saw online. After signing up for an account in their career website and filling out a long 20 minute questionnaire I was done with the applying online. After 3 days I got a call from a hiring manager to see if I was interested in the job, and had an interviewed scheduled the next day. I arrived at their corporate office and was interviewed by a hiring manager. The interview was fairly short and it focused on the themes of customer service and previous experience. The following day I got an email that said that I had moved on to the next stage of the hiring process. I had to go meet the manager of the store I was applying to. After meeting her and answering a few questions she told me I had the job.

Interviewed Aug 2009 in San Antonio, TX (took 1 week)
Managers with ATT go to hiring / interviewing classes to ask certain questions. its eventually all put on paper and eliminates a personal interview. they select what questions to ask and mark the answer. it is more of a legal protection than an information gathering tool

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 weeks)
Initial interview with hiring manager, fairly thorough, second interview is a realistic job training and interview with a particular store manager. You follow someone of the same job title as which you are applying and observe a transaction. Fairly simple as well. Interviewers showed professionalism and excellent communication skills. Replied promptly to all queries etc etc.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Indianapolis, IN (took 2 months)
I interviewed with AT&T for a Retail Sales Consultant position in one of their stores.
The interview process for AT&T is quite lengthy and extremely slow, so if you need a job right away, look elsewhere. I initially applied online using their Taleo database. Afterward, there was a series of assessments to complete, apparently to gauge one's personality and trustworthiness. About two weeks after I submitted my application, a recruiter contacted me to conduct a phone interview for further screening.
Six weeks after the phone interview, I was contacted to set up an in-person interview at the regional headquarters with the hiring manager. The hiring manager asked typical behavorial "Tell me a time when..." questions. This interview lasted about an hour.
Two weeks after the in-person interview, I was interviewed a second time at the store by the store manager, who happened to be hiring for a different store than the one I was actually interviewing at. This interview was more informational in nature and detailed the company's policies and procedures. I was then given a tour of the store and encouraged to ask questions.
I haven't received a response yet, but I assume that I wasn't selected.
Overall, a good experience, but their process is confusing and disorganized. You'll apply for a position at Store A, only be told on interview day that the position is actually at Store B because Store A already selected someone, and then when you come in for your second interview, you'll be told to report to Store C instead of Store B. Furthermore, there could be better communication between the recruiters and the candidates. At one point, I went weeks without hearing anything at all. Some people aren't willing to put their lives on hold just to work at a particular company, especially for an entry-level retail position. Also, I frequently found that the status of my application wasn't always up to date on Taleo.
If you make it this far in the process, good luck. Some suggestions: be sure to have a good resume prepared (they do look at them), ask lots of questions, and arrive to your interviews 15 minutes early.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Farmington Hills, MI (took 2 weeks)
I applied for the retail sales consultant position on a thursday and received a phone interview that next tuesday where they went over the basics of the job. They as me a few general questions (What would you do if) and then set up an interview with a hiring manager that next Tuesday. During the second interview she asked me questions about my previous experience and how that would translate into this new job. It was a very easy and short (15-20 min) interview. For the third interview (which was that same Friday) I was sent to the store "i could" be working at and had a very informal talk with the manager and the assistant manager. They talked about training and about store hours and such. They were very nice and and it seemed like I had the job in the bag. After that I didn't here anything until the next Wednesday saying that I had the job.

Someone from HR calls you then they set up a time for an interview. I interviewed with the store manager, assistant manager, and area manager who just so happened to be in the store that day. Lots of behavioral questions, questions about work life balance, meetings quotas.
