Interviewed Aug 2010 (took 3 weeks)
I applied online and heard nothing for about 2 weeks. Was contacted and given a phone interview, went well and again heard nothing for about 2 weeks. Was then contacted for in-person interview about 48 hours in advance of said interview, Had interview with area HR manager and store manager on same day (HR manager asked if I could drive to the store directly after first interview because store manager was going on vacation) At this point I all but knew I would be offered the job. FInished the interview process about 6pm (began at 3pm) Was offered the job by phone at about noon the next day, conditionally pending background check and drug test.

Interviewed Sep 2008 (took 2 weeks)
You fill out the online application and post your resume... this takes quite awhile due to the amount of questions. These questions seem to fill out your character profile and what you would do in ethically questionable situations. (don't be a thief) Received a phone call from the hiring department located in FL saying they were interested. Went to the interview with the local store's manager answering questions such as "what have you done in the past to turn a sour situation into a positive outcome". She wrote down everything I said word for word. Within a week I received a phone call from the hiring department stating that I needed to take a drug test within 48 hours at facility chosen by the company. Passed of course and started within a few days!

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Lafayette, LA (took 4+ weeks)
All hiring is completed by an onboarding recruitment department. I met with a Human Resources Hiring manager to interview for the position. He was ultimately the person that makes the decision. If you are chosen for the job, then you meet with the general manager. The job offer and all paper is completed through e-mail.

Interviewed Jul 2008 (took 2 days)
Specific and redundant personality test that looks for consistency in your answers. Background and drug test. Phone follow up and short interview. One interview with store manager and assistant manager. Occasionally area manager stops in. Occasionally second interview. Training can be drawn out if your part time or full time. As long three to four weeks before you actually start selling as completely commissionable sales representative. You quota relief or extra cash cushion if you're missing your quota as a new hire for the first few months.

Interviewed Sep 2008 (took a day)
Applied online through the AT&T website which consisted of a 100 question personality test. I was contacted a week later and told to come in for an interview. The interview lasted about 1 hr with the store manager and I was told to wait for a phone call telling me what to do next. I was then told to go for a drug test, and after passing the drug and background test I was offered an hourly salary and took it.

Interviewed Jan 2008 (took 2 months)
I applied in October of 2007 online, two days later was directed back to the site to complete a 175 questions (approx.) personality profile. After this, it was about 2 weeks before I heard anything back. Then got a call from a hiring manager asking me to fill out and submit an "official" AT&T application. After this, a different manager called and requested I come in for face to face interview. Interview number one took place about 2 weeks after this call. It was a 2 manager (store and assistant store) interview. 7 days later, I'm asked to come back for another interview, this time with the store and area managers. That same evening I received a call from the store manager offering me the position. The following weeks I received the official offer via mail, that contained my starting hourly rate, as well as my starting date for training. The one helpful point I can offer to anyone seeking employment there is, to ask a lot of questions about how you can help the company and your store grow from inside and outside of those walls. It doesn't hurt to already have a few ideas and let them know how you'd like to implement them if chosen. I got great feedback from this and additional pointers about how they would help me make it happen if chosen.

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Knoxville, TN (took 2 weeks)
I initially applied online through AT&T's website for the Retail Sales Consultant. Approximately 2 days after completing the test, I was called and scheduled a phone interview with an HR Recruiter. After getting past the phone interview, I was contacted by a local HR Manager, and was brought into the local office where I met with the HR Manager and the District Manager. The District Manager actually wasn't supposed to be in the interview just yet, but they wanted to speed the process up so he came in halfway through, asked me why I wanted the job and my past experiences and left me to finish the process with the HR Manager.
After getting past the face to face interview, I was contacted by the Store Manager of the location I work in and was brought in to sit down with him. 2 days afterwards, I was contacted by the initial HR Recruiter with an offer for the position.
The District Manager was slightly dry and didn't seem too interested at the time. The HR manager was very nice. If you are interviewing, make sure that you state that you do want AT&T to be a career for you as opposed to a job because there is a lot of room for upward mobility beyond the retail locations.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Boca Raton, FL (took 1 week)
I filled out an online application which took nearly an hour. I was called a few days later for a 1:1 interview. I was very nervous but she made me feel much more comfortable. The interview itself was about an hour as well. After wards I was directed to interview with the store manager of the store I was being placed in. Then about three days later I was offered the position. Everything went very smoothly!
