Applied for a semester-long internship through college job board.
A hiring manager emailed me promptly and scheduled an interview. The interview took about 20 minutes, very casual, basically was asked why I'm interested in interning at a life insurance company, why I think I can do the job, etc. I heard back within a week.

The interview was a group interview. It was a rather standard interview. It lasted from 30 minutes to 1 hour for the whole group of about five interviewees to finish. They asked situational questions such as when was a time that we showed leadership. The interviewer talked about the company and the position for a bit as well. We each talked about our resumes and our experience as well.

The interviewer was running behind 40 minutes, as I was almost leaving he came all sweaty and started asking behavioral questions. One question I remember was if you start a project in a group and you will be hired based on your performance in what place would you like to be ?

I did 1:1 with the advisor who recruited me and with the vice president in charge of the regional office. After that, I paid the fees associated with sitting the FINRA Series 7 and 66 exams. I didn't pass the Series 7 but was not given a retake opportunity.

Reason for Declining
After I missed passing score on Series 7 by 4 points, I was told that my natural market submission was not up to their standard and they had been counting on me to smoke the exam. So they decided not go forward and I agreed.

The vice exec found my resume online and called me to come in for an initial "group interview", which was actually a presentation. The presentation was literally 1.5 hour nonstop talking in monotone about the company, the position and the hiring process. I looked around the room noticing the different demographics but about half of us were spacing out. I gained a lot of new insight about the financial industry, especially since I never considered it before.
A week after the presentation, the vice exec called me to schedule an 1:1 interview. This, I prepared very well for. I arrived 15 mins early, ended up waiting 40 minutes for the vice exec to return from meeting his client outside. When he came back, we sat down, and without asking me any questions, he began ASSESSING my strengths and weaknesses from reading my application and resume. He did not ask one single question. Within 10 minutes he said I had no competency; my only value is that I can speak Chinese; and my previous experiences are useless. I left this interview VERY intimidated. I could not believe how a globally known company can look down at someone who has vast international experience; probably even more than that vice exec!
I was invited for a second interview, this time with the exec participating. By then I already didn't want the job, but I wanted to show them what they're missing out on. Again, I was forced to wait 40 minutes. And when the vice exec came to get me, he realized all the conference rooms were taken. So we had to squeeze into his little office space. The exec ended up not coming. The interview was again, not an "interview". The vice exec pretty much repeated everything he said in the first 1:1 interview (meaning he forgot everything from before). After explaining that I have to pay $900 to cover the training and exam fees for the first three months, his only question was "What do you think?". At this point I was utterly confused. Does this mean I am offered the job or what? I was tired of this whole thing going nowhere, and so I explained that my knowledge and experiences are better off elsewhere.

Entire hiring process was unorganized. I don't understand why they don't have a HR team to take care of this.
Company culture not what I wanted. Despite everyone being entrepreneurially-minded, nobody interacted with each other. It was dead silent in the office.

The interview consisted of 2 parts
1 phone interview very basic explanation of the job
and 2 the in person interview
The did a good job trying to sell the position it is all commision but that is to be expected in the industry
they tried to convince that he believed I can make 100k the 1st year simply on his "intuition" and essentially offered within 30 mins
The weird thing to me was that they don't pay for your licenising and exams they expect you to shell out $1000 and they say if you pass they will reimburse you and add an additional 1,000 I found this kind of weird for such a known company especially becasuse every other insurance/finance company covers those fees.

Overall I just felt that the recruiter was giving me a sales pitch claiming that he like me and knows that I will be succesfull, although it was nice to hear I felt that he said the same thing to every person that comes in there.
