Was approached by an assistant manager from a surrounding area at a career fair. Got my contact information and was called within a week. Set up a 1 on 1 interview with the district manager. She asked me 5 behavioral questions. Pretty basic and simple. Give me a time when...What was the outcome... Was told I would be contacted within a week. I wasn't so I called her and inquired. Was offered the position.

They just decided if I had the right fit for the company. I did, and i was able to get the job. A surfed and loved the beach and loved their fashion and was passionate about it. I tried hard and worked hard and they deemed all those attributes to be fitting.

I was living out of state at the time- so I interviewed with a different district manager. The interview lasted about an hour, she had an interview guide that she had to follow. Questions like: How would you handle an angry customer? What did you like most about college? What did you like least about college? When have you shown you were a team player? All interviews are the same questions.

There was no negotiation- the company sucks, they offer what they do and that's it. I tried to ask for a dollar more an hour and they were not having it.

You sit down with the store manager or DM and go over basic duties about the job. They ask you some questions such as "who is your favorite role model and why" and things of that nature. You need to be good looking, you cant be overweight, out of shape, or out of style. You must fit the hollister look policy to get hired.
