Interviewed Feb 2012 in New Albany, OH (took a day)
10-15 rather easy questions that you can find on this site. After the interview with the DM of the campus stores I was told it would take a couple weeks to decide on which candidates he would consider. I was also told that there would be a letter sent to your house whether you got the job or not. I worked in a campus store for approximately 4 years and had a great experience. My managers were all nice along with my general managers. The atmosphere is just what you would expect at Abercrombie & Fitch's home office. Easy on the eyes and not so much on the ears with the same hour playlist playing over and over and over until it changes which happens 4 times a year but you learn to tone out the music after a few months.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Columbus, OH (took 2 weeks)
Applied online and about 2-3 weeks later I was emailed about a phone interview with HR. Was asked the basic questions (why did I pick my major, my school, what would my friends say about me, why Abercrombie (I think), how do I like Columbus, Ohio, what do I dislike about my current job) and my current salary. I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week if I would be asked for a in person interview and that Friday I was asked to come to the home office.
The Home Office interview consisted of the Wonderlic test and interviewing with 2 HR people. Still the general questions: strengths, weaknesses, more about what I do, how I work in teams, more about why I picked my major, worst feedback I received. HR person #2 was more laid back than HR person #1. I was offered water and to read the magazines in between HR person #1 and #2.
I was told I hear back by the end of the next week about interviewing with the team. I interviewed on a Thursday. I hadn't heard anything by 2pm the following Friday so I sent a follow up email. I was told a couple hours later via email they were going with other candidates.
Pretty standard overall. Do dress in A&F clothing. Absolutely everyone else there I wearing it.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Columbus, OH (took a day)
Informal and relaxed. The representative simply asked questions and took notes based off of my answers. The general feeling was that I was speaking to a pyschologist and not a recruiter. The vibe was that they are looking for individuals who are able to fit into their artificial cullture.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in New Albany, OH (took 1+ week)
I contacted HR regarding an open position. Disclosed that I had interviewed with corporate 5 years earlier. After a pleasant phone conversation they decided to go ahead and bring me in for a face-to-face interview. After setting up flights and hotel stay, I was given an overview of the interview process and notified of the # of people I would meet in addition to the Wonderlic Test. On the day of my interview, met with roughly 8 people ranging from my HR contact, fellow planners, directors, VP of Planning and EVP. Everyone was very interested in my experience and personality. I felt very at ease. On my way out, HR rep gave me good feedback and within a few days they made an incredible offer.

Reason for Declining
After discussing some reservations regarding negative comments from previous employees, HR contact invited my fiancee and I back for another meeting in Columbus. They were at all times professional and very helpful. I got cold feet and they offered me many options to discuss those concerns and how they at A&F treat their employees. Ultimately I declined the offer due to relocating my future wife, but within a few days we both regretted the decision. Columbus and A&F seems like a great place to work.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Columbus, OH (took 4+ weeks)
I was contacted on LinkedIn by an Abercrombie & Fitch recruiter and had a phone interview that week. This was a 20 minute introductory conversation where the recruiter asked basic questions about my background. During this phone call I was asked to come to the home office for an in-person interview. I was told to dress "A&F casual," which is definitely recommended if not required. The home office exudes the same brand sense as their stores do and I think they want to see that you would fit with the company culture. The first in-person interview consisted of the Wonderlick test (50 question/12 minutes) and interviews with two people from the Allocation department. I was there for a total of 2 hours. A week or so later I received an email from the recruiter asking for another in-person interview. This interview consisted of four 30-minute interview with higher level executives. Be prepared with a lot of questions! They want to know that you are interested in the training program and can ask good questions. If you run out of questions just ask the same ones to different people to get different perspectives. Although they asked some difficult questions, non were out of the ordinary. I was that it could take up to 3 weeks to hear a response (my last interview was just before the holidays). I got the contact information of everyone I talked to from the recruiter and I sent everyone thank-you notes. Even though I didn't end up getting the job, the overall interview process was very positive. They don't try to intimidate you or stress you out during the interview and it was an overall good experience.

Interviewed May 2011 in New Albany, OH (took 6+ weeks)
The hiring process seemed thorough and professional, however, the duration of the process was what ultimately drove me away from the company. I started with an interview over Skype, then did not hear back from the HR rep for over a week. After I followed up, I was told they wanted to schedule an on-campus interview, but needed to work out several schedules and would get back to me. This took about another week. I was then brought in for the interview, which was about a 5-hour process of interviewing with several different people. After that, I once again waited over a week to hear back. I followed up with the HR rep and waited some more. I finally heard back and was told the position might not be available after all, but that they'd like me to interview again for a similar position. More waiting to schedule, but was finally brought in again. Similar interview process, about 5 hours. Then more waiting after that. After over another week of waiting to hear back, I contacted the HR rep to decline the position. I have since heard similar stories from other people interviewing at A&F's headquarters here in Columbus, OH.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in New Albany, OH (took 4 days)
I applied online through my university's career services website. I was contacted by an HR recruiter to set up a time to do a Skype interview. I dressed in A&F casual for the skype interview (Recommended if not Required). The skype interview consisted of standard interview questions, background, why do you want to work for A&F, etc. The next round was a face to face interview at my university's career services building. This interview consisted of two rounds and a Wonderlick IQ Test. The IQ test was conducted by an HR recruiter with a the whole group of interviewees. It consisted of 50 SAT style questions and you have 12 minutes to complete. Then there wasa face to face with an HR recruiter and a face to face with an Inventory Manager (Allocator). These interview questions included: Describe a time when you were unable to meet a deadline, what is your definition of success, why did you want to apply for a position with A&F, what word would your friends most use to describe you, discussion of your resume etc. The next round was an invite to attend a 2 day Home Office interview. Day 1 you arrived at the hotel, was greeted by HR and presented an A&F gift bag with a generous amount of A&F merchandise. Dress was A&F casual, everyone was wearing Flip Flops and it was December. You first go on a tour of Columbus. The main goal of the two day process was to not only make sure you were a fit for A&F but to make sure A&F and Columbus were a fit for you. Home Office day 1 activities include a state of the business presentation by a Senior VP, a Q&A session with that senior VP, a Q&A session with a team of varying levels of Allocators, and various tours of the campus. The next part was a meet and greet/dinner with Interviewers from the next days events. It was very social with drinks before and after dinner. Much of the interview process focused on your personality and how social you are. Day 1 ended with the return to the hotel to prepare for the next day. Day 2 consisted of a tour of the campus stores. During the tour and throughout the entire home office visit, your encouraged to ask as many questions as possible. If you run out of questions you should continue to ask the same questions to other employees to get different perspectives. The next phase a an allocation related team excercise with your group (there were approximately 20 candidates for this round and your are split into groups of 5 or six). Though this exercise was Allocation related, the goal of this activity was more to see how you interact with your group and what role you play in a team environment. The final stage was 3 rounds of interviews and a case study. The case study was 45 minutes long and consisted of real life allocation scenarios. The interviews consisted of 2 interviews with HR and one interview with a Senior Allocator. You are told you will hear back no later than 3 weeks after the home office visit. It was certainly one of the most intense interview processes I went through but also the most beneficial and engaging. You really have a great feel for the position and the culture at the end.
