Interviewed Dec 2011 in Temecula, CA (took a day)
Applied inside the store, and a team member came up to me and said they were having open interviews on these days. So I went back on the day of the interview (Tuesday) and was told there weren't enough managers on duty for the day, and then was asked to come back Thursday (2 days later). I waited at the "lounge" for about 20 minutes and the interview took about 20 minutes. Both managers that were on duty at the time were only about 20-25 years old, and seemed just as nervous as I was.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 3 days)
Basically you apply at the store and they're ALWAYS hiring. The good thing is that you choose the interview date (Tuesday or Friday) and you just show up. I had a group interview. We were separated into two groups, Models and Impacts. The questions consisted of at least 3 questions that the manager just read right off the paper and wrote down your answers. The key question was diversity and the other people answered incorrectly. Everyone answers the same questions. The interview was really short. I got an offer like 3 days after and accepted. The people are actually chill there and I don't think it's based on looks cause the place I work at are just average looking people. Clothing for women - dark skinny jeans, a&f top, flip flops/chucks. No eye liner, make-up is allowed as long as it is natural looking. No nail polish on fingernails. Schedule is really flexible.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in New York, NY (took a day)
The application process was very easy and you get to pick the day you want the interview. My interview experience was horrible. At the end I just knew I wouldn't get it. It was a foreboding feeling. During the interview the interviewer seemed fixated on only one person. Even if you gave a good answer she'd give a smug smile. She wasn't really enthusiastic and seemed like she had an issue with certain people. I'll try again but hopefully I get different person.

Interviewed Jun 2011 (took a day)
Very easy group interview...simple questions like:
Why do you want to work here?
How do you contribute to diversity?
Is diversity important? And if so, why?
Who does A&F appeal to?
Describe a time you had to complete something on time?
Describe a time you had to work in a team.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Novi, MI (took 5 days)
I applied in-store and they automatically offered me an opportunity to book a group interview for me at the end of the application. i got there a good 10 minutes early and was the first one there. There were two other people that showed up less early or just on time, sadly the actual manager was almost 45 minutes late because of "traffic" that I mysteriously didn't encounter. We walked to the food court (the store is in a mall) and they asked me questions revolving around leadership and diversity. Nothing too crazy, it lasted about 25 minutes to interview us 3.
Here's the best part, at the end she asked how old I was and when I responded 17 she informed me that they didn't hire under 18. Corporate policy. That would have been nice to know before I wasted over an hour with the interview. Driving included, it was a waste of an hour and 45 minutes. My advice for anyone applying here is to be 18+ and have prepared answers about what diversity "means" to you.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Temecula, CA (took a day)
My local mall has been doing open interviews for months so I decided to give it a try. They had open interviews on Tuesdays and Fridays at 4PM so I went on a Friday. There was only me and one guy getting interviewed for an Impact position, the rest were going for a model position. The interview lasted for about half an hour. The most important question was their question on diversity, so make sure you give a good explanation on the importance of diversity. I noticed that the people working there were very attractive so that discouraged my hopes of getting a job there. After the interview, I wrote them a thank-you note and sent it to them the next day. I've been waiting for weeks for a call from them but I never got one. What's weird is that they've been doing interviews for a long time now. I don't understand why they've been hiring for almost four months now.

Interviewed Sep 2009 (took a day)
Asked about why you like abercrombie clothing and why you want to work there.
What your favorite drink is. Random questions that had nothing to do with the position. Then, the manager talked about his role at the store and how he got to be a manager. Basic retail interview.

Interviewed May 2010 in Orlando, FL (took a day)
A&F conducts interviews in groups of less than 10 people. The hiring manager will ask questions based on past work experience, school involvement (i.e. clubs, organizations, sports), leadership positions you've held, work ethic, etc. I was one of two people who was hired.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took a day)
it's quite a relax one, we sat on couch and had a group interview of 3 people.
the manager asked standard questions, such as
- tell me about yourself
- how do you define af customers
- how do you say about diversity
it's quite a simple one, stay engaged and try to stand out.
we three are all got hired :)

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Boston, MA (took a day)
I went to the A&F site to sign up for a job as an Impact. I went to the store and spoke to one of the managers there and coincidentally, the interview was later in the day. I went back to the store and saw a few people lining up for the interview. It was a group interview.
