Interviewed Mar 2011 in Troy, MI (took a day)
My experience: Was approached by a recruiter and within a few days we agreed on an interview. Questions were behavioral based. "Name a time when you had to deal with a conflict within the workplace and how you resolved any problems." They look for qualities (especially sports related) such as leadership, group involvement, and passion that can translate to being able to manage and motivate 40-150 people at a time. This is a definitely not a position that is a 'stepping stone.' As most interview candidates are internal, external candidates should be prepared to answer how within 5 years they see themselves as having upward mobility within the A&F brand. All interviews are with the District Manager unless approached by a recruiter. If so, after interviewing, there is still a meet-and-greet with your chosen DM.

Interviewed Mar 2009 (took a day)
I went into Abercrombie and did their application in-store. Then, I got called a couple days later to come in for a group interview. I went in [wearing one of their shirts and sandals] and had a group interview with 3 other people. Three of us were applying for the model [sales associate] position, while the other was applying for PTI [part time stock impact]. The managers asks the group useless questions about diversity and extracurriculars, while they are simply judging you on your looks. After the interview, I was the last to leave because I was waiting for my mom to pick me up and the manager just told me I had the job.

it was pretty chill, like you were sitting among friends (who were gorgeous) and they asked you casual questions. make sure to sit either in the middle or end because its like 15 people and your answer might be repeated a number of times

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Toronto, ON (Canada) (took 2 weeks)
My interview process was terrible! I was called to meet the manager in store, but wasn't told if it was a formal interview. I had prepared myself for an interview, showed up at 8:00 AM, only to have her read out the job description for me. She said I was perfect for the job, and they would call me THAT night to set up a formal interview. Two weeks later, I called back, explained that if they didn't think I was right for the position, I wouldn't take it personally. She reassured me that I WAS right for the position, and that they were very busy and would call me THE DAY after. It's been 5 months.. still waiting..

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
The interview was very casual and they encouraged everyone to wear A&F clothes to the interview. However the entire company and atmosphere just feels like they only hire very attractive people since their main form of advertising is people wearing their clothes. Seeing as I am male and not a hot blonde girl, I figured from the start I wouldn't have much of a chance. Overall though, the interview was just your typical half hour behavioral interview with the standard questions. Nothing hard.
