Interviewed May 2012 (took a day)
I applied and set up the interview date/time online. The interview was easy - just a few basic questions while the interviewer took notes on our answers. There were six of us at the interview, three applying for the Model position, three applying for the Impact position. Since there are only two sets of questions (one for Model, one for Impact), try to be the first or second person to answer them, or you'll be repeating what the other people before you said. I got a call the next day with the job offer, which I accepted. I went in to the store after a couple days to fill out the paperwork, and that was it.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Charlotte, NC (took a day)
They only hire you if you are attractive. The group interview is a few generic questions that are meant for you to show your personality (or lackthereof). The other girl in my interview group was dumb as a rock and she got the job. She was asked, "Do you prefer to spend time along or with friends." Her immediate response for five seconds was, "Uhmmmmmmmmmmmmm." Yeah. Intelligence is not necessary. I mean, you are hired as a "model." Basically the company wants to be known for hiring hot people. They don't advertise much because they believe that their employees are advertisement enough.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Columbia, MD (took a day)
I was simply browsing around the store and was approached by the store manager. She exclaimed that I should apply to be a model (sales associate)...she handed my a slip of paper with a website and an entrance code. There you pick a time and date for your in person interview.
Usually on Tuesdays and Fridays, I showed up in dark jeans and a plaid, try your best to wear what their current models wear. The interview is with the store manager and usually with a few other candidates. This allows you think over the question, unless you're first!

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Las Vegas, NV (took a day)
Walk in and apply at the computer kiosk built into the wall. You will select an interview date typically for 4 o'clock Wednesday, or 4 o'clock Friday, something like that. When you arrive the day of your interview there will typically be other people maybe about 4 or so. The manager will take the group to an interview area, usually outdoor seating at the mall. In this case for Town Square LV, NV it was at the metal tables in the center park/grass area. He will have a clipboard with questions on it and will go around the circle asking various questions off the clipboard. If you decide not to go first then you can take some time to think about your answer while listening to what other people have to say. Your answers don't always have to pertain to work experience, feel comfortable drawing from life experience. One girl in my interview group was asked about a time she had to overcome a difficult challenge, she talked about climbing a mountain with thick snowfall while leading a group of students. Other questions may be about how you're outgoing, and basically fit the A&F image personality wise. Anyway, after questioning they let you go and then call back in maybe a few days to a week. Orientation consists of standing in the back stock area craning your neck up to watch a short 15-30 minute video about deterring theft and providing superior service. That's it. Other than that there isn't any more formal training and they just throw you in and maybe or maybe not tell you the best way to do your job. Which is to the detriment of those who actually know how to do a good job and have to pick up the slack for everyone else. Management is very relaxed, so far I haven't seen any consequences for doing a crappy job/ blatantly not working while on the clock.
If you're worried about the interview questions just look up some generic interview questions on the internet.
"why would you describe yourself as outgoing?"
"how would you describe superior service?"
"what is diversity and how is it good for the workplace?"
"how would you describe the A&F image?"
"describe a time you overcame a big challenge?"

Thy interviewed me twice then brought me in for training. It sucked.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Their wages are awful. Minimum wage, short breaks, a lot of standing by yourself spraying perfume. Strict dress code that forces you to buy their items.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Paris (France) (took 3 weeks)
I'm English and had my interview in French. I was very nervous but the questions were easy and they said that I didn't even have to speak French to work at the store because they all spoke English. I gave my interview in French regardless.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in McLean, VA (took a day)
It was a group interview of 7 people. They interviewed you in order by what position you wanted. If you want to be a model, you'll be interviewed with the model questions. If you wanted to be an impact member, you'll be interviewed with the impact member questions. I was model and the big thing you want to do is basically go over their company basics like what they think their clothing is. Match it to that and you'll be fine.
