Interviewed Aug 2011 in Boston, MA (took 2 weeks)
Contacted by an internal recruiter who found me via social media site. He knew nothing of the division and couldn't answer any of my questions... my questions weren't even very specific to the apparel industry! He was able to give me only the overview of how many worldwide employees, travel is required and there is fast advancement.
I was interested and was offered a phone interview with someone who is actually in the division and could answer some questions about travel and the level/caliber of companies that work with them. He made it sound like it wasn't the 'follow up' interview, it was so that I could be given more information to see if I wanted to proceed with the next step.... silly me.
I asked a ton of questions which were very specific to my industry, but I also asked about the travel and how this person balances life due to travel up to 5 days a week. I came home a few days later to a message on my machine that basically said I wasn't a good fit because I asked too many questions about the travel. Nice...
Glad that I didn't pursue it if they don't value intelligent questions to make sure that it's the right fit....

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Boston, MA (took 5 weeks)
Three round interview process:
1st round: meet w/ a senior manager for 30 minutes to go over your resume and why you want to work in consulting and especially for Accenture.
2nd round: meet with a different senior manager this time for 45 minutes, will ask behavioral/situation based questions like dealing w/ conflict & working in a group to see if you are a good fit
3rd round: office visit for 1/2 day, will see a presentation by 4-5 analysts or consultants about working for Accenture and to answer any questions then have 2, 45 minute interviews with higher level managers/executives to have them ask you a few questions (which most likely are the same as you've already had in past 2 round) mainly focused on your understanding of what they do and what the role entails, but most of the time is spent with you asking them questions about working for the company.
at each stage there is always plenty of time to ask questions and everyone I met with was very friendly and open to discussing any question or concern

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Boston, MA (took 2 weeks)
After applying online I was contacted by email from the recruiter to set up a phone call with her. The call was about 10 minutes long basically just going over my resume & making sure I understood the job I was applying for. At the end of the call she informed me I had 'made' it to the next interview which would be a skills interview and if I continued past that I would have a final interview. The way the scheduling worked my skills interview and final interview were for the same day and ended up being in Chicago despite the fact that I'd be working out of the Boston Office.
Skills Interview: about 30 minutes long with a Senior Executive. He asked very specific questions about my background with Informatica, Databases and SQL. He mentioned at the start of it that if he detected any BS he would be kicking me out and had already done that to a candidate earlier that day. After about 30 minutes of questions he said i'd passed and would be able to go to my final interview.
Final Interview: another 30 minutes with a different Senior Executive. This was more informative than anything else. I wasn't asked any questions except if I was sure I wanted to go into the group I had applied to -- seemed like I had some options if i was interested in something else. They go over the promotion process, how roles work & overall company structure. Basically just an opportunity for you to learn more about accenture.
After both of these interviews the recruiter takes you into a room and asks you how they went etc. She told me I would definitely be getting an offer and it would probably be two days before the package was put together.
She called the next day with a verbal offer of 70k, I asked for 2k more and she agreed. I accepted the 72k w/ a 5k sign on bonus and 18 months 'at level'. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

I had another very similar offer from Deloitte but it was 2k higher so I just let Accenture know and they matched it over the phone and I accepted.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Boston, MA (took 4 days)
It was an interesting experience. After submitting profile through Accenture website, I was invited for a 30 minutes HR screening. This went well and the HR lady found my profile suitable for capital market opening. She forwarded me for the next level and told me that there might be a HR situational interview that I need to take as next step. However, after a week, I received an invitation to visit the Accenture Boston office for a day long interview.
At Boston office, I was first interviewed by a senior manager from the capital market group. That was a fabulous discussion cut across all areas of the capital market - from current state to most effective strategy to form a wealth management organization. The interviewer was delighted and forwarded my case to the capital market partner. The partner was a very nice person. He straight away started the discussion with an appreciation note. He asked a few insightful concepts from capital market domain and re-validated the previous interviewer’s feedback. All went well and he finally acknowledged my responses to all questions and then almost verbally confirmed the success.
The day after, I was notified by the HR that the interview went well, but I need to complete the situational interview.
So far is so good.
A lady from a non- cap market background called me up and asked situational questions such as whether I resolved any conflict and whether I have developed any agreement in past.
As usual, I tried my best to cite examples from my recent engagements in Cap market projects. During my explanations, I could figure out that the lady was rapidly losing interest and finding it difficult to relate herself with the Cap market terms.
The very next day, I was informed by the HR that despite my excellent ratings in the final (!!) interview, I could not cross the barrier, as the situational interviewer did not find me suitable for the job!!! I was not surprised.
Although, I don't mind being not selected by HR, I appreciate the quality of the discussions that I had with senior manager and the partner. They were knowledgeable.
This might well be an exception. But, one's performance in situational interview heavily depends on interviewer’s attitude, exposure and knowledge level. So be careful …

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Boston, MA (took 2 weeks)
First interview was a phone interview. It was just a basic screen to make sure you could talk to people. The second interview was a phone interview that lasted about 2 hours. You go over 3-4 scenarios and explain your thought process. The interviewer will delve into detail by asking pushing questions. The final interview was at the office. At this point, the job is yours to lose.

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Boston, MA (took 2 weeks)
I applied online to the Accenture website for the entry-level Consulting Analyst position at the Boston location. The next day I was emailed by the college entry-level recruiter requesting a phone interview which was scheduled for the next day. The phone interview with the recruiter was comprised of going through your resume and asking questions about why you want to work for Accenture. She asked a few behavioral questions: tell me about a situation where... describe a situation in which.... They were pretty easy questions to answer since you can base them off past work or school experiences. However, if you are not good at thinking on your feet, I strongly suggest you think about recent experiences that you can draw upon where you worked in a group or took on a leadership type of role.
After the phone interview she told me she would be in contact very soon if I was going to move onto the next phase in the interview process. Two or three days later I received an email from another person confirming my availability for another phone interview-which is more extensive. The secong phone interview was outsourced (at least I think) by a contract person who works for Accenture on a part time basis. She was very friendly and open which eased me a lot. Again, this was another behavioral interview. She asked questions about times where I took on a leadership role, times where I seeked out technical advice, etc. This interview was much more thorough. She probed more into my answers by asking how I felt when something occured, which class did these events take place, what was the outcome/result. Definitely be prepared and read up on the STAR technique. I had prepared by having written examples of several answers. Although the questions I used to prepare by weren't asked exactly, the answers could be used for a few of her questions. The interview was pretty lengthy, it lasted for about 45 minutes. She then told me she will send a report to my recruiter and the recruiter will be in touch.
A few hours later I received an email from my recruiter inviting me to the third and final phase of the interview process which was an onsite interview to take place 2 days after the second phone interview. The onsite visit started at 12:00pm even though we had to arrive by 11:45am. There were four other interviewees with me. We viewed a presentation given by 3 current employees-two were consultants and the other was an analyst. We were also provided a light lunch. The presentation consisted of learning more about Accenture, the travel, various groups within Accenture etc. It lasted about an hour or so. After the presentation, each interviewee broke off into individual interviews with a senior executive (or senior manager.) We each met with 2 senior employees for 45 minutes. My first interview was with a senior manager for the Systems team. He was relatively nice; kinda long-winded. He was also a little uptight, he wasn't really open for small talk as most interviewers are. But he told me about himself, his past, and what he currently does, as well as the way Accenture works. Then for the last 30 minutes we spoke about myself and life experiences. Again, it was the behavioral based questions, luckily, there were only 3 or 4 questions and they were pretty easy. He too probed more into my answers; so be prepared for that. Once this interview was over I met with the second interviewer who was super nice! He kinda nixed the formal way of interviewing and engaged in small talk and asked questions occassionally. He told me about his experience within Accenture, because he was new only being with the company for about 3 years which is virtually unheard of. He looked over my resume and asked super easy questions. And went back and asked the questions HR (or the recruiter) has prepared for him, they were the same ones that were asked by the previous person. Once he and I were done, he showed me around the office which was relatively empty considering mostly everyone travels.
Pretty easy stuff right?..

Interviewed Nov 2008 in Boston, MA (took 4+ weeks)
I first interviewed during the on-campus interview process. Through the university job website I submitted my resume and cover letter for review. After a few days I was informed that I had proceeded past the initial screening for the first round of interviews. The first interview was on campus and was approximately 30 minutes long. It was pretty basic and consisted of the interviewer (who was an Accenture partner) going through my resume in some detail and asking me questions about previous experience, projects, courses, educational curriculum and other activities. I was then given time to ask my own questions about the company, people, job, etc. I was told that I would be informed if I would be invited for a second round interview later that day.
A few hours later I got a call indicating that I would have a second interview the next day. The second round interview was a behavioral interview, during which the interviewer (another partner) gave me difference scenarios and asked me to describe different situations in my past educational or professional experiences in which I had faced or how I dealt with those scenarios. For example, "Describe a time or situation in the past where you have had to make a difficult decision and what was the outcome?" and "Describe an experience in which you have made a difference by playing a leadership role?" The interview lasted for a bit over an hour, during which I was asked to describe atleast 4-5 different experiences, focusing on my role during each on. Again I was given time at the end to ask my own questions. Afterwords, I was asked if I would be available on a certain date about 2 weeks later.
About a week later, I believe, I was informed that I would have a third round of interviews on that date; I was told that the interviews would be at the Accenture offices and the day would be about 4-5 hours. I wasn't really given any other details. I was instructed to fill out the official online Accenture application. I was also called during that week through by a Senior Consultant to just chat and ask any questions I had about Accenture, the hiring process, culture, the people, work-life, and anything else I wanted to talk about. During the actual third round interview we (about 4 other people being interviewed) were invited to the Accenture offices and were greeted by the regional recruiter/HR person, and 2 other current Accenture analysts/consultants who had recently joined Accenture (worked there about 1 year). We sat down to lunch and were given a presentation about what it was like to work at Accenture, the benefits, the training program, travel, perks, etc. It seemed like a formal overview likely shown during recruiting sessions or to recent hires, but since it was such a small group the actual presentation style was pretty informal and we were encouraged to ask questions during the presentation. After lunch and the presentation each one of us met with 2 more partners for 2 separate interviews. There were several interviewers as all 5 of us were being interviewed simultaneously. The 2 interviews were also behavioral interviews with similar experiential types of questions but these interviews were longer (about 1 hour 20 minutes each) and with more time dedicated to my questions. At the end of this the HR person said we'd here from them within 2 weeks.
Three days later I got a call indicating that they were offering me a position but not in any of my preferred locations; the offer was only verbally indicated at this time. "Negotiations" relating to location went on for about 2-3 weeks until I finally got my written offer.
Interview Questions
Negotiation Details
I was able to negotiate location. I wasn't really able to negotiate base salary too much, however I was able to negotiate my relocation bonus based on location. The only advice that I would offer is that don't settle for whatever location/office they want to stick you in. If there is not enough demand in your preferred locations (they will ask you for your top 3 in your interviews and in the online application), HR will try to stick you wherever there is an opening. If you are completely flexible where you live (ie. anywhere they have an office in the US) then that is fine, but if not then know where there offices are and work with your recruiter to have them scope out location options where you could see yourself.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.
