Interviewed Mar 2009 in Sacramento, CA (took 1 week)
Interview process consisted of an initial screening interview by HR -- Simple questions and fact checking.
From there, interview consisted of 4 separate 1:1 phone interviews with whom would be my supervisors and one peer. Depending on who I was talking to (and their style) these interviews asked for my experiences, examples from past positions, where I have had successes, etc... This was also my opportunity to ask about the position. What is important to them. This was useful in my information gathering process and in future interviews.
I then had an in-person interview by the Managing Director in the office for which I was being hired to. Conversational in nature. It was more me listening. He wanted to talk about the company and what has/hasn't worked. I think he was also trying to get a sense of if I would mesh with the team and philosophy.
I also had a behavioral interview which should have lasted 1 hour but went for nearly 2 hours. Questions like: "tell me about a time where you had to", "what would you do if", "have you ever had to"...type of questions. They want you to explain it in full detail. Prepare for this. Sometimes it is hard to recall every details of what happened 5 years ago. Come prepared with a few examples of teamwork or having to make a tough decision, or something that shows your moral compass, etc...

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Sacramento, CA (took 4 weeks)
Communication was initially in e-mail and then phone. Make sure to update information correctly using the online application as their search engine targets various words posted to the online application systems. Interview process is very thorough includes initial screening by recruiter, skills interview with one or more interviewers at same level or above level you're applying for and typically within the same organization structure. Also includes a behavorial/skills interview with a HR representative, typically non-technical in nature. And the 1:1 face-to-face, typically with the Hiring Manager and may or may not be in a panel setting, this interview is the hardest. People you'll meet during this process, typically have been with the company for long periods of time, indicating to me they are happy being with the company. And from what I've seen, it's because of the strong employee culture and customer service environment.

Negotiation Details
Yes, there are set ranges and you can go above them slightly however salaries are already higher than most companies so exceptions are far and few between so consider this before declining or negotiating over the range.

Interviewed May 2010 in Sacramento, CA (took 3 weeks)
I applied back in October and wasn't contacted until April via e-mail from a regional recruiter. The first interview was over the phone, no more than 20-30 minutes. This was mainly a getting-to-know you, and my interviewer asked me to describe/summarize my resume, and also asked me what I knew about Accenture and this position.
After 2 days, I got an email from my original recruiter that I would have a 2nd phone interview. This interview was a little longer, 35-40 minutes, and was behavioral. She asked specific questions about situations I have been in the past, and how I handled/dealt with them. She wanted SPECIFICS, and would probe further if I wasn't getting specific enough. She gave me fair warning that she would "probe" for specifics and that it wasn't a bad thing if she did--she just wanted the experiences and to find out how I handled them.
After another few days, my original recruiter informed me that I passed, and that the next interview was an in-office interview in San Francisco. This was a 3 hour experience that included two separate 1:1 interviews (both behavioral, like the 2nd phone interview), along with a presentation from Accenture about the company, benefits, etc. There was also a very causal question/answer/get-to-know you session with experienced analysts and consultants with a catered lunch. It was really nice!
After the office interview I had to wait a week before I got an offer via email from my original recruiter.

Interviewed Aug 2007 in Sacramento, CA (took 1 week)
The hiring process is very professional and very well organized. I started by applying online and I had a quick phone screen in less than 4 days. Within a week I had an official phone interview and a few weeks later I had an in-person interview. The process was quick and painless. They focused a lot on experience and personality type questions like "describe a difficult situation" or "tell us about 3 weaknesses". It's good to have some anecdotal experience ready.

Negotiation Details
At the time, Accenture was pretty firm about my offer. Since this was my first full-time position right out of college, I had neither the experience nor the understanding to negotiate much. I would simply recommend looking at sites like this to get an idea of what they are offering. One important point: office choice is key! They like to keep you near your home office, so ask about what kind of projects are nearby.
