Within a couple weeks of applying online, I was contacted by an internal recruiter via email and we agreed upon a time for a telephone call. That phone interview consisted on confirming information, a few screening questions, and an overview of the interview process.
A few weeks later, the next step was a 45 minute telephone interview focused on validating my skills. It consisted of discussing examples of prior projects I had worked on with a senior associate, and being very clear about the situation/challenge, my specific role/actions, and the results achieved.
That was followed by another 45 minute telephone interview focused on behavioral topics such as "tell me about a time you disagreed with your manager and how you handled it". I understand the people who conducted this interview do only this kind of interview, and do several each day.
The final step was a day of face-to-face interviews that focused on "fit". This required air travel to and form another city in a single, very long day. I had two one-on-one interviews, each about an hour long, one with the hiring manager and another with a peer manager. There were other candidates interviewing at the same time, and we all sat together in a conference room between interviews and for lunch. It was a bit odd that no one from Accenture joined us for lunch, ... instead, they came in a various times, grabbed a sandwich box, and went back to their desk to eat.
The following week, I was informed they would not be extending me an offer.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in May 2010 – Reviewed Apr 1, 2011
Interview Details – The company values internal referrals and does an active search within the market through external resources (social media, job boards, etc.). The initial interview is a skills screening with HR and very general in terms of fit and interest. Second round consisted of a phone interview with a senior level individual (manager, senior manager) and was more of a behavioral based interview to assess skills in particular skill area. Third round was an on site, panel style interview with 2-3 senior level individuals (senior manager, partner/principal) and much more focused on skills, behavior, experience, etc. The process varies based on hiring level and has changed to more of a competency and case study assessment in addition to the above third round outline. Preparation and ability to highlight achievements and skills is important. Have a list of detailed questions to gain and express interest in the company and opportunities, but be specific in communicating goals and expectations. Ensure that you understand the opportunities available and resources available to meet your objectives - there is not a lot of individual guidance, so you have to be proactive and ask, ask, ask for more.
Interview Question – Describe a situation where your ethics were challenged and how you were able to make the right decision to achieve success. View Answer
Negotiation Details – Negotiations are flexible and encouraged. Determine what factors are important and be candid in your reasons: salary, work/life balance, vacation, etc.

Big companies boast of processes, quality, blah, blah, but in reality they hardly adhere to it. I had a very bad experience with Accenture recruitment team. One consulting company which works for Accenture had called me and had taken all the necessary information from me like number of years of experience, current CTC, expected CTC. They had forwarded my cv to accenture and then scheduled for a face to face interview.
When I went to the Accenture office, one HR lady took my first round of interview. I was surprised that HR will be the first round of interview at any place. She asked my expected CTC and asked if it is negotiable. I replied it is not possible to negotiate as I am already holding another offer. Later she asked some usual HR questions like what is the biggest challenge u faced so far, how do handle a crunch situation, blah, blah. I answered all the questions satisfactorily. Then she told me to wait for some time. After some time I was informed that there is compensation mismatch and I can leave.
What is really shocking is before scheduling the interview why cant they check what I had quoted in my expected CTC. It ruined my entire day, as I had travelled long from my place. I also had declined another interview schedule to attend this one. These people dont have any sort of respect for others time. Please consider Accenture only if you have no alternative.
