Interviewed Sep 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 5 days)
Very detailed and strong grilling. Have your competency examples ready and be ready to expand on the points, such as "and how specifically did you show that skill in that situation" - it's not enough to outline a scenario that implies you had that skill, for example if asked to give an example of leadership, it's not enough that you were captain of something, you will have to explain how your actions showed your leadership skills. Also, know:
1) Clients - recent cases, names, and what accenture did for them
2) Competitors - not just the obvious McKinsey/BCG, do your homework
3) Service areas and service lines
Also, have your application memorised and at hand, they will ask you the essay questions again.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 months)
I applied for an Experienced Hire position directly via the company careers website. 4 weeks later I was notified by HR that they would like to do a first round telephone interview. The interview would be conducted by a manager who would be from the department that the job was advertised for. The manager would be conducting a skills interview and be asking questions with relation to my CV.
3 Days later the manager called on time to conduct the interview. It was very straight forward. She started off by introducing herself and gave a bit of history of her own career within Accenture and projects that she had worked on.
The next stage was quite simple. I had to talk about my back ground and walked her through my CV. The whole conversation was carried out in a very informal manner just like two friends chatting over coffee. She obviously had some key questions which she needed answered and managed to throw these in to the conversation:
Tell me about a time where you showed leadership?
How do you deal with conflict management and give me a recent example?
Describe to me your management style?
When was the last time you persuaded a group of people?
The interview took about 1 hour and was very pleasant. I asked for her contact details so I could write and say thank you.
HR called me 6 days later to give me my interview feedback. He told me that the manager thought I interviewed really well, showed in depth knowledge of the market and came across excellent on the phone. He then said that they would like to take my application to the next interview stage which would probably be with a partner however this won’t be until September (4 months after my original application) at the earliest, which is disappointing!!
I let HR know that I would be happy to go to the next stage of the selection process and would let them know if my circumstances changed.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
The Baker Street office is soulless and corporate, to the point where the HR interviewer en route to the interview room commented on the strange architecture of the corridors in the building, which were like a labyrinth composed of staircases and doors. The director - the other interviewer - asked questions in business management jargon, and asked for examples from my career in response. When I gave each answer in plain English, she translated it back in business management jargon and repeated back at me - literally every time. She also asked multiple strategic questions I felt more appropriate to her own role level than the role hire (not just a couple of questions as a test of intelligence or succession planning). I gave feedback after the interview to the HR interviewer about the number of inappropriate role level hiring questions. I did not get past first interview, but I would have declined taking the process any further, based on the soulless building and the soulless director interviewer.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 1+ week)
Applied on line for role and received an email next day to say application had been reviewed with interest and I would hear from recruitment team shortly. A week letter a scheduler contacted me to arrange a telephone interview . I asked how many stages and was informed there would be 2 more stages if passed telephone stage. I then received email confirmation of interviewer and what it would consist of and how to access more information about the process. The following week I had a telephone interview which lasted 45 minutes covered CV and application confirmed personal details then told at the end that would hear by phone or email outcome. 5 working days later got email saying role was now unavailable and my application would not be going further - a bit of a waste of time!
