Interviewed Mar 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 weeks)
Originally started with a phone interview. During this interview I was asked to provide examples throughout my time at University, or outside of university where I have demonstrated skills that they look for. Examples of these skills include where one has taken a leadership role, when one has worked in a team, when one has managed to deal with large amounts of pressure or things going wrong, when one has had to take the initiative themselves and choose their own direction.
After getting through this phone interview, the next stage was to go in for two personal interviews. One with a technical manager in the technology solutions department, and another with a person from Human Resources.
The technical interview went over my understanding of technical issues such as the development lifecycle, my understanding of certain technologies, but focused mainly on concepts that could be applied, or built upon where I to join them.
The HR interview was very similar to the phone interview, but in this case done face to face rather than over the phone.

Interviewed Sep 2008 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 days)
Interviewed with Accenture as a fresh graduate. HR was very quick to process the interview and within a month I was in the London office (following an initial phone interview). The 1:1 interviw turned out to be a group interview spanning half the day. We started off in 3 groups of 4 and were given case studies. We then all came together into a larger room to discuss our findings, with Managers watching us and taking notes. After this we then had to present our findings and this was challenging as we were only given a short time to present key findings. We were provided a flip chart. The last part was a 1:1 interview where the standard questions were asked (why us, do you know what the typical day would be, etc.). All in all a friendly bunch - I loved the culture and the fact these were smart but laid back people. Needless to say I accepted the offer!

Interviewed Nov 2009 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
Pros
Accenture is a good career starter out of university, as it has a good brand name and begins with a good training curriculum. The salaries for new joiners out of university used to be very good (becoming less so). Good amount of vacation time and good healthcare. Travelling, although tiring after a while, can be exciting for new Analysts and Consultants.
Cons
The pay has been severely degraded over the last few years, making the salary not so competitive with the market. All the good people are smart enough to leave early, and the very bad people are managed out, leaving a group of mediocre managers and senior managers (with a few exceptions). Once you become specialised in one area, the company will not support you to transfer to another area or learn new skills.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't lose your best people - make sure that you reward and pay them to keep them around! Make sure that bueaurocracy does not interfere with a flexible consulting model, and continue to train and develop your employees to get the best out of them

Interviewed Nov 2009 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
I was lucky to be interviewed by a consultant and not an HR robot. She was very friendly and helped put me at ease. The interviews focused around your bog standard competency based questions, followed by a really simple mini-case study. Unfortunately my interest was in strategy, yet she had said at the outset that 'I'm assuming that you're here for technology'. I think Strategy must have been full already by that point so I basically shot myself in the foot.

Interviewed May 2009 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 4 weeks)
The application process consists of 3 parts, an online application form, a 45 minute competency based interview and a 2nd round interview.
The initial application form was thorough and asks for academic achievements, questions about Accenture and your motivation for applying to Accenture.
The first round interview was around 45 minutes in length and involved questions about your CV, some general competency based questions and a mini case study.
The second round interview consists of an in-tray exercise, a group activity, a case study and role play session and a final one-to-one interview.
Advice for the first interview: make sure you know about Accenture and reasons for applying as well as having a realistic view of what you will be doing day-to-day as an analyst.
Second interview: If you've got to this stage, you will have to do several exercises and a group activity. If you've got to this stage you've done pretty well, but you will to prove you are a well rounded person with problem solving abilities as well as being able to deal with others (in the group exercise).
As an analyst you will be expected to travel to client sites and Accenture will make sure that you are willing to do so in order to be successful here.
Interview Questions
You are given a booklet that has background information on a company and the views of some of the employees. Your job is to find the problems in the company and outline any solutions. You are given 20 minutes to study the information and make notes and then you will have a role-play interview where you will be quizzed on the problems and their solutions.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview and a Skills Test.

Interviewed Nov 2008 in City of London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 weeks)
First round: Very straight forward. You're asked the basics; why you want to apply to Accenture, why you chose your degree, what does Accenture do and who are their competitors. I was asked about enterprise resource planning and about the differences between SAP and Oracle. Afterwards I was given a short paragraph detailing a company that had 3 problems for you to identify and develop a solution to the problems.
The interviewer was generally friendly however the office seemed quite empty. There didn't seem to be as much office cohesion as one would accept. Most people seemed like drones.
Second round: The interview processes started with about 20 minutes to read a document that had interviews from a company and other extracts after which I was given a 1:1 interview. It started with a repeat of the first round; why do you want to join Accenture etc. Then the questoins regarding the document started; it related to major problems in the company and what you would do to sort them out. It was very fast paced and the woman who interviewed me was quite harsh in a way. After this you are split into a group and you need to discuss the same company and prioritize the company problems. It turns out everyone is given slightly different information. The next task was a document review. You're given a 14-15 page document and you're set with 15 minutes to read through the document and highlight any errors such as poor indentation, poor labelling etc. The final major task of the interview was to break off into groups once again and you're given an 'innovation' task. My task was to come up with innovative and creative methods of solving the overcrowding and underfunding of the London Underground. Within this everyone had to come up with at least one idea and then we had to take on someone else's idea and we were given a set of different budgets in which we needed to argue about who should apply for what budget. You were then to present a 30 second presentation based on why you should get that budget. The final part of the day was to have an 'informal' chat where you're asked how the day went and whom else you may have applied to.
Overall the second round resulted in a very negative impression of Accenture. The intreviewers made the atmosphere uncomfortable. While the analysts seem quite friendly the HR team with whom you work with on the 2nd round seemed quite two-faced. It seemed quite unappealing in the end.

Interviewed Jan 2009 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
Following completion of the online application form I was contacted to attend a first round interview. This was with a Manager and lasted for approx 1 hour, it focussed upon my CV with competancy based questions. I was also asked why Accenture. There was also a short 10-15 minute case study.
I was then invited to the second round and assessment centre, which lasted for half a day. During the day there was an in-tray excercise, a group excercise, a presentation and another interview.
After this I heard back within a few days.
