Interviewed Oct 2010 in Pittsburgh, PA (took a day)
My interview was quite simple. The owner of the store asked me basic questions about myself to see if I would be a good fit. We talked about my current experience and weather or not I was qualified for the job. I was then hired at the end of the interview and began to be explained store policy.

Interviewed May 2009 in Thornton, CO (took a day)
The hiring process was extremely simple. The hiring manager simply called me and asked me if I could come in for an interview on a certain day about a week after the phone call. She was very nice during the interview, but I can't say she actually interviewed me on anything. She asked me what my availability was and then asked if I could start the next day.

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took a day)
Was very informal. I was asked about my customer service experience and my education. I have a Master's Degree, so that worked in my favor. We talked about my hardware knowledge, experience and my ability to life heavy things. Overall, was a positive experience, the manager was incredibly nice.

Interviewed Dec 2009 (took a day)
Very Professional. They were just as concerned with my personality as they were with my experience, which I always find refreshing. I believe any successful manager requires a proper balance of the two. The process involved a one-on-one interview with the outgoing manager, as well as the store owner. The owner seemed hands on, but willing to allow his employees a degree of freedom.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took a day)
I droped off an application and they said they weren't hiring. Then a few days later I got a call to come in and interview. The interview was short. Basically you have to be flexible on everything (hours, days of week, pay). It is very low key and informal.

Negotiation Details
There is no negotiation. You either accept the low pay and constantly changing hours or they go on to the next person.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took a day)
Left an application at front desk because I was told they were not hiring. Had a message on the answering machine before I made the fifteen minute drive home. I called back and set an interview date. I was interviewed by the store owner and the store manager. Mainly it was them bragging about their store and how they are better than the competition. The manager was whining about the little everyday things that managers have to put up with.

Reason for Declining
Tthey gave me a low ball offer of 10.00 hour and no guarantee of hours. I told them the offer was really low but if they could promise me some overtime I would try it for a while. They wouldn't guarantee the hours so I did not even call back.It is sad with this economy employers think they can hire you at low wages, they don't know what they missed because I could have added a service they don't have and added a significant increase in their gross sale.

A week later I finally got a call and went in next day for interview. I went through the regular questions and mainly they focused on my background in landscaping.
