Very Difficult Interview
I applied online - interviewed at Acuity Brands in December 2012.
Interview Details – Process seemed organized yet very cold and impersonal. I felt as though I was part of an assembly line being passed from one to the next. The final interview with the hiring manager was very abrupt and cold. Felt very rushed. After I, as well as others, was flown to the corporate office but up in a hotel with a rental car, the position was cancelled. For an organization that claims to be process oriented, it seems this position was not well thought out. Moreover, six weeks after the interview I am still waiting for an expense reimbursement. Not at all impressed. Huge waste of time, money and effort.

Interview Details – Completion of online application is required. I received a call from a recruiter the next day to schedule a phone interview the same afternoon. The HR supervisor called and the interview lasted about 40 minutes. She was very friendly and professional. She explained the position was created due to streamlining HR duties. They have been in acquisition mode and need continuity. Although my resume wasn't exactly what they needed she saw elements of potential. She was very honest that the interview confirmed I was probably not the best candidate so I wasn't surprised when I received an email 2 days confirming the job wasn't offered to me.
Interview Question – Describe a time you were asked to do something by a superior that you didn't agree with. Answer Question
