Interviewed Jan 2010 in McLean, VA (took 1+ week)
Typical interviewing process began with an initial phone inerview with the hiring manager and then I was brought in to meet with her in-person as well as her boss, the Managing Director of Employee Services. I was then asked back for a final round interview with two potential internal clients of mine should I come on as a recruiter. This was the first time I had interviewed with internal clients to get the job and it was a great experience to get a better sense of company culture. This final round interview was actually the main selling point for me to take this job over another competing offer.

Negotiation Details
Tough negotiations, but the benefits are so good (20 days PTO, 401k, paid holidays, etc.) that I still came away with a competitive offer. Vacation is not negotiable, but it's the best I've seen out there in the market.
Other Details
I got the interview through a Staffing Agency and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview and a Background Check.

3 Managing Directors - nothing too intense. Phone screening was the worst part.

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took 3 months)
I was contacted by a recruiter who explained that Acumen was looking to expand operations in the Philadelphia area. We first had a brief phone interview, where she gave me an overview of what Acumen did, what they are looking to do and why they were interested in me; it was basically a way for both of us to gauge interest.
Following the initial phone interview, I had a phone interview with the director of the group I would be entering, where I learned some further details about what the company was doing and how I could fit into it. After he was satisfied that I was serious about continuing the process, we scheduled an on-site interview day.
The interviews were primarily behavioral; everyone was very positive and very welcoming. They went over my resume, and they asked a few questions to determine whether I had the technical skills needed for the position.
I was given a scenario and ten minutes to prepare a presentation on it. The scenario was very free-form, open ended and vague, which gave a lot of opportunity to be creative and to show my thought processes.
Following the interview day, a background check was performed and I received an offer.
Overall, everyone I met was kind and showed genuine interest in what they did as well as the company for which they worked. I didn't get a single indication that people were unsatisfied with their work or with their company, and the overall sense that I got was that people felt a great sense of ownership in what they do.

Reason for Declining
I have a job currently, and my company has been changing rapidly such that many more opportunities opened up between first contact with Acumen and the time I received my offer. After considering every factor, I decided that at this time, it was better for me to stay with my current company. With that said, I am absolutely open to the conversation in the future, should the time be right, and I was sure to communicate that when I declined.
If not for the opportunities I have at my current company, I would have accepted the Acumen offer in a heartbeat!

Interviewed Mar 2010 in McLean, VA (took 2 weeks)
Employee referral, started with a recruiter screening call. Then a phone interview with a consultant. Finally came in for an in-person interview and met with two managers. It was very comfortable, the follow up was timely, everyone was very nice and helpful. They were open to my questions and answered honestly. They asked me many questions about what I thought about the industry and I appreciated that they were interested in my opinion.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in McLean, VA (took 3 weeks)
The interview process is a bit normal for a consulting firm. It started off with a phone interview then a face-to-face interview with the Manager. Once she was sold on me, her boss came in to meet with me. Then there was about a few days for them to discuss and then invite me back in to meet with some of the potential team/clients/direct reports. After that, they wanted to move forward quickly since I had a competitive offer and ran my background check which was about 7 business days. Then I got an offer pretty quickly. All-in-all, pretty smooth process.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Cleveland, OH (took 1 week)
Interview began with 2 phone interviews, first is with an HR recruiter who covers the general info gathering. Second was with a member of the development team, they asked very pointed questions to gauge your knowledge of programming concepts. Was contacted within a day of the phone interviews to setup an onsite interview, this consisted of two 1 on 1 interviews. First was again with the recruiter and the second with the the manager of the development department. Very easy going and laid back atmosphere, didn't waste time with the usual standard interview questions instead worked hard to get to know me and what my interest were.
