Event Specialist Interview

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Advantage Sales and Marketing in February 2013.

Interview Details – The hiring process is very easy going with average and basic questions. There is nothing really to be nervous about this company. You are pretty much a self managing all the work you do and reporting to your manager. The only downside is they'll tell you you don't have to travel but will make you travel irregardless.

Negotiation Details – Very easy going. There wasn't much negotiation to be done.

Retail Supervisor New England Division Interview

I applied through other source and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Advantage Sales and Marketing in October 2010.

Interview Details – Hiring and interview was fine- I was hired originally back in 2008 and the company was still run in a manner conducive to creating a positive working environment. Now, not so much and the online application process is now very cantankerous and clumsy and is very difficult to navigate.

Interview Question – Name a time you failed and what you learned.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – There was not much negotiation. There was a take it or leave it offer.

Client Service Executive Interview

Client Service Executive
Cincinnati, OH

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Advantage Sales and Marketing in January 2014.

Interview Details – Phone screen with CA recruiter, onsite interview with Account Director which went really well. The next steps were explained as a panel interview with other account team members, but unfortunately the position was put on hold indefinitely, and the recruiter nor myself could find a comparable role in the region. So that left me really disappointed.

Interview Question – Nothing was really difficult or unexpected. They love to share how much growth the agency is experiencing so read the press releases, newsletters and trades related to their business   Answer Question

Business Development Specialist Interview

Business Development Specialist
Saint Louis, MO

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Advantage Sales and Marketing in September 2013.

Interview Details – First you must fill out the online application, then if it makes it past the screening you will be contacted by a recruiter. They will conduct a preliminary phone screening and pass the results along to a hiring manager. The hiring manger will call and set up an interview. There will be either one or 2 interviews. After this you should hear back about the decision. The most dificult part of the process in the I-9 because most jobs are remote to offices you must complete you I-9 and return to HR before you can be hired. If you do not have experience with I-9s it can be very difficult to complete as you need to get it notarized.

Interview Question – The bulk of the interview questions are behavior based. Be prepared with lots of example to back up. For instance, Give me an example of a time when you have to make a critcal decision without input from others, what was the decsions process and how did you come to it? The purpose of this question is to see if you can make critical decisions and do it free from support.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – I was a current employee and got a written offer which I could either accept of decline, there is very little room for negotion

Recruiter Interview

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Advantage Sales and Marketing in November 2013.

Interview Details – The hiring process is a mess from the smallest position to the highest. You will first get a phone interview, then a face-to-face, or sometimes two phone interviews

Negotiation Details – there is no real negotiation. Either you take the job or not. That tells you a little about how the company treats its employees
