I applied online and the process took 5+ weeks - interviewed at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union.
Interview Details – Applied online through their website, including a personality assessment survey based on hypothetical situations. The questions were difficult to answer in an accurate way, as the multiple-choice answer options often included works like "always" and "never," which don't adequately reflect the reality of actual behavior.
The next step was a phone interview with an HR ("employee resource and development") representative, with personality-focused questions about when I've helped someone or gone above and beyond for someone else.
Next were in-person interviews with branch leaders, first at a different branch than the one to which I was applying, and then one with the leader of my desired branch. The first interview was a lot of standard interview questions (tell me about yourself, when have you had to give feedback and how did you go about it, tell me something you learned in your previous interview, what do you expect from Affinity Plus), as well as more thorough evaluation of whether I was a people person and focused on delivering on the organization's mission to provide "outstanding member experiences" (tell me something interesting you learned about someone in the last week).
Important buzz-words and organization speak: "member service," not "customer service;" "member experience;" "relationship-based organization."
Second in-person interview focused more on career goals and my intentions and expectations for Affinity Plus and my future.
Interview Question – If on one of your first days there is a big line and you get a member asking about a car loan (about which you don’t know anything yet) how would you go about helping that member? What questions would you ask, without knowing their credit score or anything like that, to evaluate whether or not to grant them the loan? View Answer
Negotiation Details – I was offered a salary and I countered with a higher offer I had from another prospective employer, they raised their offer the next day after consulting with HR. Their offer was still less than what I was offered at the other organization.
I applied online and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union.

Interviewed at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union
Interview Details – Was first contacted by phone to schedule a phone interview before having two additional interviews in person. The questions are largely targeted towards your personality being a fit. The culture of the company focuses on the members so they want to make sure that you are willing to go the extra mile to service a member's needs.
Interview Question – What would you do if a member called you because their debit card wasn't working at a local gas station and they had no other way to pay for their fuel? Answer Question
I applied through other source and interviewed at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union.
Interview Details – Plan or 2 -3 interviews....first one is usually a phone interview. They are looking for people that think outside the box....and are concerned about making friends of every customer. They believe that by making the customer their friend, that they will gain their business forever...thing is you don't have the time for this. You are expected to do everything from standing in the teller line all day, to being available on the phones, and doing auto loans and others from the teller line...mortgages, refinances....and there is no training.... learn on the fly,
Interview Question – They want to know how you will respond to someone that applies for a loan, but doesn't qualify...never saying the word no, because we never tell the member no. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – They called and offered the position, and there was no negotiation...take it or leave it.
I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union.
Interview Details – They will hire you if they like you. Not if you are a good worker. It is a personality game. Just act like you would do anything for a member.
Interview Question – They will give situation questions that they want you to give wild answers for. They say they don't want rule followers but you will be fired if you don't follow their rules. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Stay away.
I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union.
Interview Details – It didn't seem like they knew what they were looking for. In one interview they said what they wanted the candidate to be, and in the next interview told me I had those qualities but then there was that BUT .... I felt like the interviewer was trying to scare me away from the position which was confusing because she called me in for a fourth interview. Total of 3 face to face interviews and one phone interview
Interview Question – tell me something new you learned about a friend this week Answer Question
I applied online and the process took 4 days - interviewed at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union in February 2011.
Interview Details – Posted onnline application without a resume and received a call the very next day. Interview was set up for the next week and I heard back from them within the promised time of 4 days. (weekend included). Interviewed with the same person both on the phone and 1:1.
They asked very thought provoking questions, not your typical interview questions.
Interview Question – If you established a relationship with a customer and then they asked you for something that wasn't able to be approved or accomplished, how would you handle the situation. Answer Question
Reason for Declining – Sounds like a great place to work, unfortunately could not start me anywhere near to what I am currently making.
