Interviewed Feb 2011 (took a day)
I initially found a posting for the job on a job-board website and was emailed immediatly following my initial contact. The interview took place in a practically unfurnished office with only a large table and chairs. I had assumed, from the way that the email communication was written, that I would be meeting 1:1 with someone however when I got there I found that there were about 15 other people being "interviewed" at the same time. In fact, upon arriving I saw that another group was leaving as the new candidates were piling in which would indicate that they were just getting as many people as possible to hear there sales pitch and then see which ones would be fooled and actually accept their "offer".
I was never asked a question about myself or what I could offer to them. Mostly what was discussed was how much money you could make if you worked for them and how great it is that you don't have to work a 9-5 because then you could make your own schedule all the time.

Reason for Declining
After the interview was over they called me the next day and asked if I accepted. Being under the influence of false promises, being desperate for a lucrative job and rationalizing that every insurance position involves hard-work and an independent mind set, I said that I did accept the position. Then they asked me for my credit card number so that they could register me for the insurance licensing exam. I promptly got off the phone and avoided all other attempts at contact. Although I understand that you have to pay for your own licensing I just couldn't believe the manner in which everything was handled.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
The first interview is a group interview. It's somewhat of an information session. I think it is more informative than selective because it is a commission based salary - people need to understand any value Aflac might have before proceeding. The second interview is more of an interview. This is where people need to show more charisma, but also some money in order to pay for training and licensing - none of the money goes to Aflac.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY (took 2 days)
I have not yet started with them. As a first time insurance agent, you are required to pass a test in order to obtain a state issued license to sell insurance. You can pay a low fee for an online study program. If you are self-directed, the study guide is quite good. Aflac supplements the balance of the cost to enroll in the class.
Negotiation Details
No negotiation so far. Seems there are very set commission rules. Not sure yet. I won't know until I pass test and receive license.

Interviewed Feb 2007 (took a day)
I was first contacted by the Regional Sales Coordinator who said they recieved my resume online. The interview was more of a infomercial about the company. I was expecting to talk about my work experience to impress him but it was more the other way around. He was trying to impress me to accept the position.
