Interviewed Apr 2011 in Anchorage, AK (took 4 days)
Initial interview is a phone conversation. I think it was a third party company. Basic questions. After that you're invited to a 1:1, however, you have to pay for your own airfare to either Anchorage or Seattle.
The interview consists of 3 rounds. The first round has you devided up into groups of about 15. They'll go around the room asking questions and scenarios to each person. The 2nd round is 1:1 with 2 HR employess who go over some more STAR and situational questions and inquire about your background. The last round your reunited with the remaining interviewees and seated in front of a panel of 6 (FAs, Management, HR). They have you work with groups in different scenarios. Basically they're trying to see if you work/communicate well with others. They want to see if you know how to be a team leader yet at the same time if you're a team player.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Seattle, WA (took 2 weeks)
The interview was very average--- tell me what you have done in the past 10 years. Not many questions asked! I don't understand the point of going over what is already on the resume. The interview process was pleasant, but not necessarily useful in finding out more about the candidate. It's been 2 weeks since the interview -- They couldn't tell me when they will make a decision, but after 2 weeks i am assuming the job was offered to someone else.

Interviewed May 2011 in Seatac, WA (took 5 weeks)
The hiring process seems very slow. HR is apparently involved in every interview and runs most of the session with the hiring manager having very little input. The whole process seemed very geared toward entry level candidates and not toward professionals. Lots of emphasis on drug testing, tobacco testing, background checks etc. Things that shouldn't be huge stumbling blocks for mature professionals.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Seattle, WA (took a day)
The phone interview was conducted by a 3rd party. Based on the questions I was asked it seemed that the person didn't have a copy of my resume. Many of the questions could have easily been answered by looking at my resume. The person was friendly though.
Two weeks later I recieved a call from a HR rep from Alaska Air. I was asked several questions about why I left my last position. The person was very friendly.
I was told the salary range which was very low compared to the market rate for this position. The salary range for a Business Analyst is $39-52k.
I'm not sure how Alaska Air received an award for being a best employer. Maybe it's the air travel benefit that people are seeking. I'm looking for more than free air travel.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Seattle, WA (took 4 weeks)
Phone interview with Human Resources. Very professional. I was not prepared for the human resources person to ask me technical questions. She asked technical questions related to COSO and internal controls, not the type of questions I would expect from HR. Be prepared for all types of questions during the inital screening process!

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Seattle, WA (took 4 weeks)
Initial screening interview, then phone interview with Senior HR lady, and then in-person panel interview at company HQ.
Whole experience, despite not being offered a job, was extremely professional and enjoyable. Follow-up after in-person interview took about 2.5 weeks, rather than 5 days as originally told (probably because they offered the job to someone else and were waiting for them to accept the position).
For this particular position, they offered relocation assistance.
Very safety-focused and family-oriented company culture.
They also do nicotine testing, by I believe hair follicle testing, so they are a legitimately smoke-free company (allowing for lower insurance premiums for all!).

Interviewed Mar 2008 in Seatac, WA (took 4+ weeks)
I was contacted for a phone interview in response to an online application. Met with hiring manager and the person one level up. Very thoughtful people and great interview questions. The usual questions, plus some that had clearly taken thought to come up with. Later was invited back to interview with some folks with whom the role would interact. People seemed very earnest, committed, and friendly.
The disappointing part of the process was that, after three rounds of interviews, they never followed up with me. Ever.
