    Product Engineer Interview

    Application Details

I applied online – interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics.

    Interview Details

I applied online and got a call about a week later. The first interview was with a recruiter. It was general questions about my past experiences. Nothing too difficult.

After that, it took about 2 weeks before they reached out again to set up an interview with the hiring manager. This is where the whole process went downhill for me. The manager called me to reschedule at the time of my interview because they had a customer come in and had to work through things together, so we pushed it back to later that afternoon (which I was fine with. Things come up- I understand). So, I waited around for our newly rescheduled time. And I waited. And I waited. I got a call at about 7 PM saying that they had stuff come up and wondering if we could reschedule again. In neither of these situations did this person apologize for the inconveniences that this may have caused me (it did, because I had to leave my current work in order to find a place to do the interview. About 3 hours out of my day total). They only asked if we could reschedule again. So we did for the the next day. And they were actually on time for this one. We walked through my resume again (very basic stuff). The whole time this person (who would be my supervisor) seemed very rushed and rude and like they had much better things to do. When it was time for me to ask questions about the position, this person was pushing them along as if they wanted to be done with the interview. The whole experience just felt like it was an inconvenience for this person.

I have not been offered the position or another interview at this point, but will withdrawal my name if approached to move forward in the process. After thinking about it, it's probably not a place that I would like to end up.

    Recruiter Interview

    Application Details

I applied online – interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics in September 2014.

    Interview Details

The front desk, assistant and people that I interviewed with were all very pleasant and professional in demeanor.

I had some very difficult questions which were answered thoroughly with additional detail that I found very helpful

The interview process has gone smoothly and swiftly.

NOTE: I selected 'no' that I did not get the interview because they are still interviewing other people...at the time of this review I don't know if I will receive an offer. If an offer is made I will more than likely accept it as this company is in a high-growth/change time which I find very exciting. They are a top player in their field and the people seem very down to earth and friendly.

    Quality Manager Interview

I applied through other source. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics in August 2014.

    Interview Details

Applied online and the process took well over 2 months, I called HR back twice, was directed to some corporate HR in a different location. Finally received an interview over the phone and then a second interview in front of a panel of what appeared to be 8 managers. I was offered a tour of the facility, was not impressed with all of the clutter. Asked questions to some of the operators, it was scary. I declined the offer which was insulting anyway.

    Interview Questions
    • The HR questions were so irrelevant, "if someone came into work with a drug problem, how would you handle it?" It was apparent this facility is more interested in disciplinarians and babysitters than actual skills and knowledge.   View Answer
    Reasons for Declining

After touring the facility I decided that this place would close within a year with all of the department managers.

I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics in December 2011.

    Interview Details

The process was well organized and extremelly professionally done. Respectful for all parties. Far more extensive and varried especially their attempt to make sure candidate and Amcor culture are a match. I was quite impressed with each phase and while tedious I can see it has great value. They have a great culture they are building anew and are being very careful to nuture it by finding people who fit with their philosophy of innovation, customers, and safety.

    Senior SAP Business Analyst Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics in February 2011.

    Interview Details

I first had to attend a phone interview. This was mostly technical. The people know what they were talking about and were professional. After I cleared it they called for an interview on site in their Michigan office. I had to talk to the technical team for an hour and with the HR and senior management.
HR interview is the biggest joke. They will kill you with standard questions. You could fall asleep without effort.
for eg, your strengths, weakness, handle difficult situations.
Senior management interview was just as boring. they ask same standard HR questions.

The interview process usually consist of some basic math and personality questions.
The work culture is tough to deal with as a manager because your authority is constantly being undermined. Hourly employees often have more authority than the managers.
