Store Manager Interview

Store Manager

I applied through a recruiter and interviewed at American Eagle Outfitters.

Interview Details – Usually interview with the District Manager (very vague questions) and the Regional Manager (much more focused on how you react to visits, speak to visits, and react to the pressure of visits). Will question your prior visual background and business acumen skills. Overall the interview is more about how you react to the questions, then the answers themselves.

Interview Question – When you had your last Corporate Visit, how would you say your Regional Manager reacted to the visit? Was it positive or negative, and why?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – They always try to start around 40,000 but an experienced person can garner an additional 10,000-20,000 without much problem.

Store Manager Interview

Store Manager

The process took 1+ week - interviewed at American Eagle Outfitters in May 2011.

Interview Details – Extremely easy, everyone was polite and excited about bringing new people on board.

Interview Question – What do you like to do in your free time?   View Answer

Reason for Declining – The talent level that they currently had on staff for management wasn't top talent, I know that they were starting to make changes. With those changes sometimes you need to cut ties to people who have been there for a while or develop and empower them into the leader that they should be.
