Interview Details – I received a phone call requesting an interview for later in the week. I accepted and then got the call back for the interview. The language requirements for the position were not correct on the job listing. They were looking for someone with native level capability, specifically without any kind of non-native accent. Fluency was not sufficient if any non-native accent was detectible. Due to this, the interview was terminated 15 minutes into it.
Interview Question – How do you deal with a customer that you can't help? Answer Question

Interview Details – The first time they called was to set up a phone interview a week later. The interview was about a half hour. After that, i waited on a scheduler, they set up an in person interview. Once there I met with the finance manager and team manager. They asked very few questions, more compliance questions.
Interview Question – They asked if I knew what an accrual was. It was so unexpected and considering it is the most common thing it threw me off. Answer Question

Interview Details – I applied for the position on the AMEX career website. After submitting my application, I received an email instructing me to take the assessments. I found the assessments a little more in-depth than most. After passing all of the assessments, I immediately received a call from a recruiter. ( within 5 minutes of completing the assessments). An interview was set up for the next day via phone. During the phone interview, I was asked about 4 questions.....Why do I want to work for AMEX, Tell me about your education, what was the most difficult part of your last job and tell me about a time when you went above and beyond your call of duty in your previous job. I was ready and prepared for all of the questions but the recruiter seemed very dis-engaged in the whole interview, almost robotic. She didnt respond to any of my answers, she simply moved on to the next question. At the end of the interview, I asked a few questions which she seemed very annoyed and gave me a one or two word answer. One of my questions I asked was what are some of the positions a Customer Service Professional can advance to with hard work and dedication for the company. Her response was that there were several but she wouldnt continue, she just wanted to move on to my next question. I only asked about 3 questions since she seemed annoyed.. The whole interview took less than 20 minutes and I felt like she hung up and tossed my interview in the " denied" pile. The next morning, I received an email saying I was not being considered for the position. I felt like I didnt have a chance with the recruiter. I know I met all of the criteria for the position and I feel that my answers to her questions were well thought out as I had definitely prepared for them.

Interview Details – I applied on line on their career website. They contact me by phone and set a 15 minutes phone interview with the recruiter. After this I was asked my availability for a face to face interview with the hiring manager and I was confirmed by phone it would have been the next day and to wait only for the confirmation email (after the manager confirmation about his availability). I never received the email. I wrote to the HR email, but I did not receive any reply. I called to number provided me previously from another recruiter and finally put through the recruiter I spoke to the first time, who explained me they had better candidates for the role and they would have not proceed further with my application. I said it would have been nice from them to send me at least a notification about it, instead of letting hanging in the air for weeks. So much focus and importance to customer care, but then they are not able to send a notification to a person they selected and confirmed verbally for the next step...

No Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY – Reviewed Dec 4, 2012
Interview Details – I interviewed for an entry level Travel Research Apprentice positions with American Express. After successfully completing two phone screens with five people (which took over 3 months), I was invited to meet with a manager and a team leader at the New York headquarters. My excitement at the prospect of launching my career at AmEx quickly faded as the experience was awful. The man who interviewed me was clearly unprepared and his comments were contradictory. As I am a recent college graduate, he kept mentioning my lack of experience (for this entry level position) and at the same time he said the position had previously been filled by an intern. After the interview this manager said I would hear something within two weeks, but many more weeks passed without any follow-up with a hiring decision. It was only after I placed a call to the office that I received a decline e-mail. There was nothing constructive or respectful about this process and based on my experience I can’t believe their treatment of employees is any better.
Interview Question – The interview was very poorly organized, and I was asked the same questions over and over again in the three interviews. Answer Question
