Interview Details – Recruiter set up a time to speak... Basic question about current sales numbers, behavioral type questions. She asked salary expectations and the process wasn't too stressful. Hiring manager called and asked behavioral type questions. She set up a face to face where I had to prepare a presentation on a company. The meeting went well and I flew out to meet with the regional VP. The RVP was candid and direct. It seem as if I was wasting his time and I knew his decision before I left the office. I was asked to speak to one more director and after waiting for two weeks (my calls and emails were not returned)...then I received the call. The other candidate received and accepted the offer. I was asked to keep in touch.

Interview Details –
The reason for my post here is to publicly state my strong suspicion that a certain department at AmEx is using job candidates to do uncompensated work for them under the disguise of testing them. I was assigned a three-day research project on issues that have a current importance and value, then heard nothing more from AmEx and the job opening was posted again.
Further details:
I'm a municipal bond credit analyst, and the majority of my work consists of writing ratings opinions on bonds, similar to S&P and Moody's reports. The job opening required precisely this. I interviewed with a bond analyst who said that he was overwhelmed with work and had needed someone to help him for a long time already. I also interviewed with some kind of administrative manager of the department who did not know anything about the technical side of the work. The interview went smoothly, and I was told that there is nothing in my experience or skills that falls short of the job requirements.
Some time later I received a request to do a research project, allegedly as a test of my writing. At the interview before, I had already brought about 20 recent report samples, and offered my former manager's reference to confirm the authenticity of my work. Despite this, they now said that they needed 2 new reports on specific bonds of their choice. I did the research and delivered the reports. New credit research is something that is objectively valuable, with a value (conservatively) of at least $100 per report.
I immediately received a short email saying I will not be considered for employment and nothing else. My request for feedback was refused. The same day an identical job posting was published on the AmEx website: "Mgr-Risk & Information Management Job – New York, NY, US".
From all the facts it is possible to reasonably surmise that they are using job candidates to help them with their large burden of work. The fact that the position was immediately reposted meant that they did not refuse me as a result of finding a better candidate. They told me I satisfied the job requirements, that they had an urgent need for help with their work burden, and refused to give any feedback on my reports. Either they discovered something about me that they discriminate against and can't say it, or they are illegally using people to do their work for free.
I hope that anyone applying to this position will carefully consider all the above before spending days doing work for them.

Interview Details – I filled out an application on the American Express website and uploaded my resume... Once you fill out the application you are going to be prompted to take an assessment. You'll receive an email confirming that your application was received. If you don't past the assessment i believe you'll also receive an email saying that you were not considered for the position. Then you'll either receive an email or phone call to set up a time for a telephone interview with an HR recruiter. My phone interview lasted around 30 mins. Be prepared to speak about your prior work history. Question:Tell me more about each position and why you moved on or wish to do so and if we were to call your prior place of employment what would they rate you from a 1-10 and why. Another question was What made you apply for this specific position? She asked me I think like 5 or six behavioral type of questions. Some of the questions were: Tell me about a time you provided extraordinary customer service? Describe a time when you displayed creativity in solving a problem or improving a process? If you pass the phone interview, the hr recruiter will set you up for a face to face interview. I recommend that you dress to impress... In this interview you meet with the hiring manager. The hiring manger is going to asked you the same type of questions, make sure you answer the questions using the star method... Google it, if you are unfamiliar with the method. After the interview with the hiring manager, you meet with the director briefly. They told me it can take up two weeks for a decision. I actually received my job offer on my way back home from the interview. If you don't get the job, they will send you an email advising you that they decided to go with other candidates. If anyone has any additional questions, comment on my post and i'll try to get back. Make sure that you also asked questions during the interviews... Sound upbeat and energized... Thank god i did not have a group panel type of interview, I hate those interviews. It is a possibility that when you go in for your face to face that it will be a group panel style of interview. Good-luck.

Interview Details – Applied online and took aptitude test. Received a call within 3 hours to set up a screening interview. The screener, was unfriendly to the point of being rude. She said she would call on Thursday and did not give a time frame for the call. Received the call at about 9:45 am. She again sounded as if she was annoyed with having to do this, was not engaged, and seemed like she just wanted to get off the phone. I was questioned why I wanted to leave my current position and what my duties are, why I had left my previous position, whether I had worked with metrics and what were they, why I wanted to work from home and what my salary requirements are. I asked about shift differentials which she answered and a question about the equipment required which she could not answer. She then said I'd either get a phone call or an email and hung up. On the following Tuesday I received a decline email. I'm not sure whether I answered a question wrong or if she was simply in a bad mood. I feel that no matter what I said she would have written unfavorable comments. I hope that isn't true but I had a very bad feeling about the interview within 5 min.
Interview Question – The most difficult question concerned the metrics where I work since I have 2 sets of metrics one for calls and another for case reviewing. Answer Question

Interview Details – I applied for the position on the AMEX career website. After submitting my application, I received an email instructing me to take the assessments. I found the assessments a little more in-depth than most. After passing all of the assessments, I immediately received a call from a recruiter. ( within 5 minutes of completing the assessments). An interview was set up for the next day via phone. During the phone interview, I was asked about 4 questions.....Why do I want to work for AMEX, Tell me about your education, what was the most difficult part of your last job and tell me about a time when you went above and beyond your call of duty in your previous job. I was ready and prepared for all of the questions but the recruiter seemed very dis-engaged in the whole interview, almost robotic. She didnt respond to any of my answers, she simply moved on to the next question. At the end of the interview, I asked a few questions which she seemed very annoyed and gave me a one or two word answer. One of my questions I asked was what are some of the positions a Customer Service Professional can advance to with hard work and dedication for the company. Her response was that there were several but she wouldnt continue, she just wanted to move on to my next question. I only asked about 3 questions since she seemed annoyed.. The whole interview took less than 20 minutes and I felt like she hung up and tossed my interview in the " denied" pile. The next morning, I received an email saying I was not being considered for the position. I felt like I didnt have a chance with the recruiter. I know I met all of the criteria for the position and I feel that my answers to her questions were well thought out as I had definitely prepared for them.

Interview Details –
I received a call from the Recruiter who actually works for AllegisTalent2, not American Express. I found him to be extremely cocky on the phone and way too casual. The best way I can describe the conversation... he spoke to me like I was a buddy hanging out with him at a bar or in a frat house. Odd. Anyway, my resume was forwarded to the Hiring Manager. I had a phone screen with the Hiring Manager. Subsequently, I followed up with the Recruiter 2x and never heard back from him.
Amex has such a great reputation. But I must say that after speak to the Recruiter, who represents Amex, I was a bit turned off.

Interview Details – I applied through their website, and was contacted by HR over phone. I had a 15 mins phone screening. Questions are pretty basic, such as "walk me through your resume", "salary requirements". I was told to schedule an in person interview with the hiring manager within the same week. The manager was busy, and the interview lasts less than 30 mins. The questions were all very basic, too, including "walk me through your resume" (yes, again), "why this position"....and etc.
Interview Question – Nothing too difficult. Answer Question

Interview Details – I saw the job posting on Indeed.com and went to the American Express website to apply and this took about two hours. I receive a confirmation email and waited for a Recruiter to contact me. She contacted me one day later and asked one question, "What is your highest level of education?" And I stated I am beyond high school and a transfer student at a University here in my area and she stated my application stated a degree had been obtained but I explained this in my cover letter. I worked hard in community college to have those credits transferred and to be accepted into a University so when companies feel as though because I'm still in school that means I have a high school diploma it's very belittling. Although the job description read 4 year degree or 4 years of experience in customer service she considered me ineligible for the position.
