Territory Manager Interview

Territory Manager
Washington, DC

I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at American Hotel Register in July 2010.

Interview Details – i interviewed for this position and was asked to return for a second interview a week later. after the second interview i was told i was the top candidate for the position. i checked weekly to see if the co. had made a hiring decision and was repeatedly told not yet for various reasons,i.e the hiring manager was on vacation or the hr person was on vacation. a month later i was told they were doing another round of interviews and would i come back again. this third interview was the same as the first two. they asked me the same questions. again i called weekly to check on the position and again was told hr was on vacation and it would be a couple of weeks before a decision was made. i was still told i was one of the top candidates. a week later i called hr and was told the position was offered to someone else. i think they strung me along until they found someone better, which i don't think was very professional. i should have realized after being told that i was a top candidate for two months but not getting any kind of offer that i wasn't going to be hired. i also asked to find out the reason why i was not hired so i could use that information in the future but i never got an answer.
