    I was hired at a job fair, it was a 3-step process. The first was the preliminary interview to go over your work history and experience. If you pass that step, then you have a group Cultural Audition...this step is to get to know you and how you have reacted in different situations. And lastly, if you pass the CA, then you go and interview with the managers in the department in which you selected to work.

    My interview was pretty easy. I was good friends with the head of sanitation at the time. He walked me down stairs and gave my resume to about 3 Chefs. They asked me about my experience in cooking and where I wanted to go in this industry. I took maybe 10 minutes and was hired on the spot

    I applied in-person. The process took a week. I interviewed at Ameristar Casinos (Saint Charles, MO) in July 2009.

    Interview

    You will be asked several questions regarding any experience you may have with guest service. Ameristar is a guest service focused company and they take pride in treating their guests with the utmost hospitality. You will also be expected to be available for all week-ends and holidays so don't be surprised when they tell you that in the interview. After going through this interview process you will be asked to take a drug screening test which is done by taking a sample of saliva with a cotton swab. It's really not a tough interview but be prepared to give up your own outside ambitions to get anywhere with this company.
