Experiences will vary, but for the 2nd part, say something along the lines of giving the potential customer options that don't require yes or no answers. If you get it in their head that they can decline an offer with a "No," then it's hard to make a sale. Instead of, "Would you like to buy a new mattress?" say, "Which mattress would you prefer? A, B, or C?" and then explain the features of each. Your sales will double if you constantly work on your sales pitch.
