Interviewed Jan 2010 (took a day)
The interview was not difficult or extensive compared to some of my past interviews. The people seemed cool for sure, but the whole idea of getting hours based on selling credits scared me. I'm a good communicator and customers love me, however I feel like selling those things can be a turn off to customers because they would think you are being too pushy. well I guess that's just business.

I filled out a personality test online. A week later I get a phone call to come in for an interview. So I arrive 15 min. early and had to wait 45 mins. Was asked to take a look around the store. After looking around the store, we were all brought to the back and was told about the job and what it entailed also we filled out applications. Next was the store manager asked to tell about ourselves. Then she extended an offer to each of us. Overall, I would say that as long as you dress professionally and speak well and compliment the store..you'll get the job

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 2 days)
Initially, I had to take a test online and submit my resume. Once I passed the test and had my resume reviewed for the specific position, I was notified via e-mail by the company that I was now eligible to be interviewed. I was given a link to the interview process, which unfortunately did not work. I then wrote to the company's general email to let them know that the link did not work. I was contacted by phone and was able to set up an interview 1: 1. The interview itself was much easier than getting one! I was introduced first to the department floor manager who did a Q&A with me for nearly an hour. She was thorough and asked lots of questions about my past experience and how I would handle certain customer situations as well as interactions with co-workers. Then I had an interview with the HR manager who went over the company's attendance policy, vacation policy, sick time, hours for the specific position, sales goals, etc. She reviewed the company in general versus the department floor manager's specifics of the counter manager's position. The HR manager then told me at the end of my interview that the department floor manager had recommended me to be interviewed by a third person: the cosmetic line's account representative. She said she would have the final say in who would be hired. An interview will be set up for me in the near future.
All in all, the interview at this company was very enjoyable. I did not feel stressed or nervous. The interviewers were respectful and very encouraging. They answered any questions that I had and were very people-oriented themselves. The atmosphere was extremely professional. It seemed like a great place to work, where management would be supportive of employees who are dedicated and willing to do their best.

Interviewed Apr 2009 in Stockton, CA (took 1+ week)
The interview was reasonable and casual. I first spoke with my soon to be store manager on the phone and then we had a 20 minute or so interview at a local starbucks. She was very efficient and asked me questions regarding my c ustomer service abilities and anything else in the job description. I liked that the hiring process was quick without all the usual redtape and 2nd, 3rd, 4th interview that alot of companies like to do nowadays.

Interviewed Jan 2011 (took 1 week)
This interview consisted of a phone interview for 40 minutes. Then an in person interview. The typical questions were asked such as name 3 positive experiences and 3 negative experiences and what did you do to deal with the situation, strengths, weaknesses, What can you bring to the company to enforce our beliefs, etc. The confusing part was that it seemes the manager did not agree with the core values the company enforces? Such as encouraging the employees, building a team to be productive, building client trust and store experience. It was more on numbers and stats and showed irritation when speaking on the numbers and gave me a "lesson" on the numbers. The numbers, stats, ROV, coversion rates will grow and go up IF manager focuses on the Values and GOals the company has already laid out for the managers and associates! Such as Customer -client entire shopping experience 1st... and loving the brand, filling the needs of associates and clients, etc etc. It was confusing and frustrating to me.
