Slow, arduous, and no respect given to candidates. Blow off interviews, have you come in the office and only to have interviewers "dial in".
They have a hard time getting talent, and retaining talent.

Ask for the moon, including them to pay cobra. They need talent and don't have a lot of options.

I got this call through a consultant. The initial phone screen was purely technical on Java concepts, some questions on servlets. Then i was called onsite for a day long interview process. It consisted of 5 interviews. The last one was with a HR and consisted of behavioral questions to find out if i were a good cultural fit for the team they were hiring. My first 4 interviews went very well, so i was pretty confident by the end.
Questions: Write a program that reverses only consonants in a string.
write a program that given a varargs string argument, appends only the number part to the resultant string buffer.
Write a join query on multiple tables.
Write a singleton class.
Write a program to sort an array of strings using the best performing algorithm of your choice, optimizing for both time and space.
Few questions on web services, difference between SOAP and REST.

Not much of negotiation took place. They don't entertain it and i was informed about it by the consultant upfront

I had a phone interview with an Apollo Group for student support services with the University of Phoenix. I had a telephone interview that consisted of 4 in depth situational questions in which I had to describe how I would handle each one.

I had a 1:1 interview with someone who was very unpleasant and seemingly disinterested in being there. From the start, the person went straight to criticism over my past work, following up with questions that were more geared to a developer role. The functional analyst position did not require developer skillset, so this was a bit confusing and overall not a very good experience.

A recruiter on behalf of the company contacted me and conducted a preliminary screening interview. Then I was interviewed by the hiring manager over the phone. A very short interview, barely 30 minutes long.
No response since then.
Three weeks later I reached out to the recruiter who the informed me that someone else was hired. I asked for feedback about my interview, and got the boiler plate "your interview went well, you are qualified, but someone else was hired..."

It was easy and formal. They are very corporate so you should expect that. They are picky about everything being completed without any breaks. They are usually several people interview so don't be overwhelmed.

Received acceptance to 1st round of interviews very quickly and was accompanied by a written interview form to be filled out and returned by a certain date. Written interview consisted of 10 behavioral interview questions. Received follow-up email asking for a 1:1 interview with a recruiter. This face to face consisted of 10-15 additional behavioral questions. Received follow-up email asking me to come in for a panel interview and a mock customer service call. Panel interview was with the previous recruiter and 4 additional employees with the department. Panel interview consisted of 10-15 more behavioral questions.

The recruiter contacted me after I applied online. After speaking with the recruiter they set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. During my conversation with the hiring manager I learned the title of the position was different than what was posted and that close to 100% travel to Phoenix would be required. It seemed like the hiring manager wasn't convinced this position should be hired in the Bay Area. I would think it would be good idea to post the right title and mention the team is in Phoenix in the job description to minimize wasted time on everyone's part. I have a negative impression of this company based on dealing with the recruiter and hiring manager.
