Interviewed Feb 2012 (took 2 weeks)
I saw a job posting on linkedin and emailed a recruiter directly. After about a 30 minute interview with the recruiter I set up an interview with the Regional Manager. The interview was pretty basic but seemed like the decision to move forward with another candidate was already made. The typical interview questions... why Apple, tell me about yourself...

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Cupertino, CA (took a day)
I was supposed to have a 20 -30 minute phone interview. The hiring manager was 10 minutes late. She asked me 5 to 6 questions. It felt like she was rushing with her questions, so the entire interview only lasted 10 minutes. I was prepared to ask questions but she said she was running late for another meeting. I did not feel that I was given a chance to sell my skills and experience. As much as I wanted to ask her about the position and the company, I did not even bother asking...Per my recruiter, they already started the phone interview earlier that week and mine was towards the end of the week. I knew my chances were slim to none...

Its more about how you are as an individual than what you know. Very friendly culture! Make sure you're contributing to the group and aren't staying quiet. Have to show signs of creativity through presentations.

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took a day)
I went to the group interview and raised my hand to answer questions. a lot of annoying geeks were there and they kept talking non-stop. I think if you go there it depends on luck because they just pick random people because i know my sh1t and it comes to apple products but i didn't get picked. some people got selected to go there 3 times and still didn't get selected. I wouldn't even bother with this long and tedious interview process.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Cupertino, CA (took a day)
After 30mins phone screen I was invited for an in person interview at Apple Cupertino location.
For in-person interview, I spoke to 3 technical engineers, 1 manager and a director one at a time.
Director was nice and asked few cultural and behavioral questions and overall he seemed happy
Manager was little rude, aggressive (pretending to have SJ attitude) and without evening knowing any details about my background and skills blatantly told me that this is not a 9-5 job and I need to work extra hours because they work as a Startup. Infact this gave me a idea that this guy is a paniker and don't enjoy solving problems.
Two of the three engineers I spoke to were B grade guys, in fact after interviewing at so many big companies I realize that there are so many of these guys who would never hire a A grade candiate in fear of loosing there jobs.
I have to a conclusion after interviewing at Big Enterprises ( don't want to name them) that its better to have a group technical round rather a single 1:1 round.
One of the question was why Spring framework and why DI ?
They also asked couple of brain teaser from KhanAcademy (LOL)

Interviewed Feb 2012 in New York, NY (took 4 weeks)
I was contacted via email to attend the initial phase of the process, Hiring Event. I was one of about thirty people in a conference room. The point here is to standout enough so that the recruiters remember who you are. Participate but don't saturate. Company history is reviewed with all applicants. A few random questions about general Apple knowledge are thrown around the room. Next you are broken down into small groups and you are handed a profile and you must put together a complete solution for a customer. There is no right answer, they want to see who the natural leaders are in the groups. Everyone gets a chance to answer the questions and discuss their reasoning. Everyone is dismissed and you will be contacted if you are moving forward. This was my my second time interviewing but I read some posts on this site for preparation.
I was contacted in 5 days via email that I was being moved to the 2nd interview. This phase was more like a normal interview. There were two people sitting at a small table and i was greeted and we began a conversation. I was asked:
1. Give me a situation where you have gone above and beyond for a customer?
2. Can you give me a situation where you have put together a solution?
3. Why did you choose Apple.?
4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
About three days later I received another email informing me I was pushed through to the final stage. I was sat in another conference room with three people. This time I was asked:
1. Give me a situation where you went above and beyond for a customer?
2. Why did you choose Apple?
3.Can you give a situation where a customer was overwhelmed with the Apple technology, how did you explain the technology in laymen's terms?
I was contacted by phone and was given the good news. . . needless to say I got the job!
Ok, there is no magic formula that gets this job. My Apple Mentor told me to be myself and speak to my previous experiences. Gettting a job with Apple is about your personality and not your product knowledge. They could care less that you even know what a Mac is. They want to genuinely know who you are. Be yourself, be honest and answer every question.

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took a day)
Interview was set up through school, was about a half hour long. Interview was very nice, we discussed the position and what the interviewer did for Apple. The meeting seemed to be more of a discussion of the job and what to expect if you were hired.
About two weeks after the interview I was contacted through email to let me know they were not interested, it was nice to have a company contact you about their decision.

The interviewer asked some basic behavioral questions. He asked me what my favorite and least favorite classes are. He then brought up the Facebook IPO and asked me what do I take of it. So be sure to read business periodicals or at least keep track of what's in the news.
