If ambient temperature is lower than the temperature of my breath, than yes. If ambient temperature is higher than the temperature of my breath, then no. Warm is relative.

AS UX-Guy says, It's not air anymore. you have extracted some gases from it by breathing. Temperature wise I agree with GBAD, depends on where you are.

so if it's not air, what is it? Better yet, what is your definition of air? Of course it's still air, but GBad was right, temperature is a relative definition so its warmth is relative to the surroundings of the "exhaled air"

Fact #1) My wife is constantly talking about anything and everything and it's hard to get her to shut up. Therefore, she is full of hot air.
Fact #2) Opposites attract. Therefore, I am full of cold air.
Answer = I exhale cold air.

My answer to this would be no, I am not exhaling warm air but I am exhaling a warm gas. Air is defined as having approximately 78% Nitrogen, 21% Oxygen, 0.96% Argon and 0.04% Carbon Dioxide. The gas we exhale typically has 4% more Carbon Dioxide and 4% less Oxygen. Similar to air yes but not by definition air. As for the temperature, I would disagree with those saying that temperature is a relative term. I think we would all agree that 90 degrees F is warm. That isn’t to say that it is “warmer” than the surrounding air if we were in say Saqqara, Egypt in June but it is still a warm gas. The original question didn’t ask one to compare the temperature of the exhaled gas to the surrounding air just if it was warm.

I would be interested to know, however, why the interviewer asked this question and what information they hoped to get from the answer.

Simply put I agree with GBAD and Anubis. I might be exhaling warm air but warm is relative. Depending on of course what ambient tempurature the surrounding air is. Possibly the interviewer was frustrated at the person being interviewed always having an answer so wanted to have them get a question wrong. (Entertainment value)

The answer is very simple and does not require a lot of detail digging., A simple "I hope so" will suffice because the alternative is that you are not breathing.

The guy who wrote this review was mentioning that question in jest. He was trying to say "This company is so desperate, all they care about is whether or not you're alive." The interviewer didn't actually ask that question... I'm actually surprised that so many people are trying to answer it seriously in the comments.

Good point Jon. I didn't read the initial review that was written by the poster. I thought the question was an actual interview question. After seeing some of the responses above my science geek gene was activated and I had to throw in my $0.02. After reading the initial post though, I agree with your conclusion.
