Software Engineer Interview

Software Engineer

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Autodesk in July 2014.

Interview Details – Get contacted with the recruiter, sounds perfect for me. Interviewed by the manager, everything looks good but eventually they turned down my application, and went to another candidate. During the interview they are more interested into what they are doing other than what I've done. It is more like a production introduction than testing my qualifications.....

Interview Question – Nothing technical yet, seems they think I'm over qualified somehow.   Answer Question

AEC/ENI Industry Territory Sales Executive Interview

AEC/ENI Industry Territory Sales Executive

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Autodesk in March 2014.

Interview Details – Did not progress pass the 2nd recruiter interview stage. At the first phone interview, the recruiter thought it more important to take a call from his daughter. An email of apology was delivered the next day, with a request to continue the conversation. I responded with a specific time, it was greed to. When the time came, I called and left voicemail message, called again minutes later and resolved that this was a waste of time.

Interview Question – Was asked numerous times, by various interviewers, how I dealt with "difficult people" which raised a red flag in my mind... made me wonder what was wrong with this place...?   Answer Question

Product Support Specialist Interview

Product Support Specialist

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Autodesk in September 2009.

Interview Details – The interview was a phone interview. There was multiple people but the interview was well balanced and informative. It didn't really give a good indication of what the position was like, it felt more like a "do we like you?" interview, I was overqualified so maybe that is why there was no skill test

Software Developer Intern Interview

I applied through college or university and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Autodesk in February 2013.

Interview Details – I got the interview through university career system. 3 people are intervering me, one of them is like project manager. More about my background, they are very nice though. I didn't get the offer and their feedback is my background doesn't match well comparing to other candidates. I really like their office building in montreal, it looks like a studio inside.

Interview Details – basically they ask about why autodesk, and your previous working experience
did you do any web development, are you comfortable with unix can you install individually
a unix op on a cp, did you use any jquery etc, nothing very specific but you must
do your staff and be able to express it.

Database Administrator Interview

Database Administrator
Toronto, ON (Canada)

I applied online and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Autodesk in October 2011.

Interview Details – Applied online and the recruiter called couple of days. The first technical interview was set in a week's time but the manager had to leave in half an hour and the rest of the interview got postponed. The next time the interview was set the manager never called and it wasted my day. Next interview date was set the hiring manager called and started with lot of development questions. It started on the wrong foot when the interviewer asked me what i do and what is the position i had applied for. Clearly the guy did not know whom he was talking to and what position he was interviewing for. At the end i knew i did not make it because most of the questions were not relevant to the job description.
