In summary, it was a general technical chat. i was interviewed by one team leader and two other senior employees from the same team. It took about an hour. There was a couple of "hidden Markov model" related questions, but most of the other questions were just about the CV and the field in general. I was asked whether I can cope with the stressful corporate environment, coming from an academic background. I was not tested for my programming knowledge.

The interviewer asked a lot of questions that were word for word from a site that can be found by googling Java questions. The questions more or less tested one's ability to memorize specific corner cases about Java syntax and less about one's ability to reason out algorithms or one's programming methodology. The way the interviewer described the position seemed like it would be a difficult job with long hours and a lot of projects, but the position was definitely a good place to learn a lot of experience from different technologies.
