    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at Avago Technologies (Norcross, GA) in December 2014.

    Interview

Initially hiring manager talked over the phone. Then a technical phone interview for about 45 mins. This was followed by a whole day onsite face to face interview (apx. 6 hrs), Several technical rounds with couple of interviews by managers. There were several C programming questions on data structure and algorithms. particularly few questions on trees. They went through my resume in great detail. There were some personality type questions too. e.g.. what will you do when someone comes with a problem when you are about to leave the office

    Interview

I got initial phone interview though some connections inside the company. The phone interview lasted for about one hour and was mainly focused on my technical background. The onsite interview happened about one week later. The onsite lasted for about 7 hours, consisting of multiple one-on-one interviews (about one hour each) with technical managers and leads in the company. All the interviewer were very nice, though one or two of them gave me some tough questions. The questions I got were mainly about my technical background and focused on electronics, optics, system design etc. They were all fair questions even though some of them were very difficult. At the end of the day, I was told that they would offer me the job.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at Avago Technologies (San Jose, CA) in October 2013.

    Interview

I got an email for phone interview with Avago in 2013. Then I had a phone interview a day after. I passed the technical phone interview and the on site interview was set up for the week after. On the week after, HR contacted me 2 days before the interview and they booked me a round trip ticket from L.A to San Jose. They also gave me a $50 gift card for taxi and food for the day of interview: pretty generous and professional! The interview process was pretty fast and straight forward. I had only 2 interviews: phone interview with a manager and a group (on site) interviews with other managers and engineers. It was a great experience.

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 daysinterviewed at Avago Technologies (Fort Collins, CO) in March 2013.

    Interview

1 hour phone interview by Hiring Manger. Was called back within 2 hours for on-site invitation. I was asked to give a 30 min presentation on one of the projects(informed well in advance that they expect PPT). Good thing the ppl know in and out of everything in DFT as well as Test mainly because few of them were previously employees at Agilent . Had 5 rounds - 1. Back to basics - R,C,L, and CMOS 2. Scan, BIST 3. At-speed Test 4. Logic Design 5. Director and Hiring Manger Behavioral Nice gesture - Even the DFT director and Senior Managers came with me(interviewee) for Lunch. Plus, they gave 50$ gift card at the end as a measure of per dm expenses. Very friendly ppl and I could feel that there is team unity and ethical ppl in the organization. It was by far my best interview experience. Till date, I regret that I couldn't get the offer.

    Interview Questions

    • Simple but a very interesting question. I was given a Verilog code of about 60 lines and I was asked on whiteboard to explain how that RTL will get synthesized to, as in depending upon priorities what muxes & how the counter will be synthesized.   Answer Question

Very easy interviews. Relocating to Fort Collins is sometimes not easy for people, so people tend to stay away. Which is why it;'s a great company for people who want to move to Colorado.

Presented my previous work and successes to a group of employees, many of them were managers from adjacent organisations. Interview

The hiring and interview is very effective in my opinion, but the politics involved with family members there is a little appalling. It didn't seem too difficult for the interview and hiring, it got challenging when employees were put into action. But, I love a challenge
