Interviewed Jan 2010 in Atlanta, GA (took 2 months)
Avery spent 6 weeks interviewing me, only to present me with a job offer that was LOW.... literally interview process took 6 weeks, and the job offer process took 3 weeks. The company and industry is in decline, I recommend that anyone approached by Avery walk the other direction.

Reason for Declining
Salary was too low. Avery offered me 45K less than I was earning the year before.

The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Presentation, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took 6 weeks)
Sent an introduction email to a corporate recruiter. After a phone interview and some miscommunication between her and the divisional HR head I secured a second interview with him. A third conference call took place with the hiring manager; everything seemed to go well. At that point they proceeded with a thorough background check. Six weeks after my first contact, I met the hiring manager.

Interviewed Mar 2009 (took a day)
There were two rooms with two people in each room, they asked me a bunch of questions about operations management that i didn't expect in the second room. It was clear they wanted someone with operations skills even though i was clear before the interview in saying that my operations skills were only so-so at the time. I don't think they communicated very well between the interview groups.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Brea, CA (took 2 weeks)
I had two thirty minute phone interviews before I was eliminated from the running. The first interview was not technical at all. She did ask for one work that would describe my personality. The second interviewer asked questions about my past experiences to find out if I had skills they could benefit from. There were no behavioral based questions. They were fishing for New Product Development and Project Management experience. Lean Six Sigma experience is also a plus with this company. The interviewer was very nice and gave a lot of information about the job and culture of the company.

Interviewed Jan 2008 in Mentor, OH (took 2 weeks)
Communication and logistics were good. Travel expenses were pre paid. Process dragged a bit due to travel schedules. The people involved in the process were welcoming. The facility where the interviews were held was terrific. Some of the interviewers clearly had more interview training than others. All of them used behavioral based interview questions, some of which were pretty repetitive.

Negotiation Details
There was little to no room to negotiate. Vacation policy is very limiting (really not very generous at all) and the bonus structure is standardized.

Interviewed Nov 2007 (took 2 weeks)
I was first contacted by an external human resources firm. The interview was fast but really nicelly handled by them. After I passed that phase I was interview by Avery's human resources people and shortly after that by the Marketing Manager. There were all one to one interviews. The office not so nice but I was very pleased to see that the people who interviewed me were really concerned on knowing me.
